I was born in 1959. I have never really experienced fear on a global scale…until now…and I’m terrified. Fascism is on the rise…but we thought it would never rise again. We are the generation who enjoyed the luxuries of peace but failed to pass on the warnings of history.

Keir Starmer sounds boring because he has nothing to say. He has no philosophy, no beliefs, no strategy, no deeply held passion for anything. He cannot excite the nation and that will lead us into very dangerous waters in 5 years time.

Sometimes you need a break from those hard hitting state of the world novels (I’m taking a break from the Berry Pickers which is brilliant but too emotional for a single sitting) A bit of Mortimer humour is just what was called for. I mean who can live without a talking pigeon.

The only thing in Selfridges that was free 😂

Just spent a great couple of weeks in the Maritime provinces of Canada…so beautiful. And then Quebec…wow what a city.

This is the Deportation Cross cross commemorating the 1759 forced removal of the Acadians from the Canadian Maritimes by…yep not hard to guess…the British. Don’t teach this part of the Empire in history class do they.

paulmacmanomy.com For anyone interested I have started writing a blog about our travels. I’m a rank amateur at both writing and photography. I know it’s not very good but it’s a way for me to record memories and hopefully it can give others some basic information about areas they may want to visit.
