I'm waist deep in the script for Sub Astra and realize I may need some actual voice talent. How do y'all find voice actors? Are rates usually per line, or based on project size. My budget is small, but I want all labor to be fairly compensated. #gamedev #voiceacting

If you're a LGBTQIA+ artist, crafter, creator, editor, writer, etc (anything at all, really), drop a link for your goods and/or services here so people can find you. I want to drive funds in your direction.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you aren't a failure just because you don't meet your own goals. Sometimes you just fail. Progress is not linear and sometimes life gets in the way. We've all been where you are and together we can get where we want to be. #MotivationWednesday #gamedev

If your goal seemed impossible, how long would you persist in pursuing it? What would discourage you? What would motivate you? What would make you so mad at it's seeming impossibility that you would do whatever it takes to make it happen? #goals #design #creativity #passion

We are told that space is dark and empty. That you could travel millions of years at the speed of light and still not reach another galaxy.

Quick question for other indie devs: Besides core game engines, what tools and plugins save you the most time and money? What are your most mundane and time-consuming tasks? #gamedev #indiegames #solodev #unity3d #unreal #godot

Want a #gamedev secret? We are all secret magical geniuses who never have challenges. Instead, the first ideas we have spring to our minds fully formed and are always as fun as we think they'd be. Every day has 30 hours and we get as much sleep as we need. We are also experts in everything.

What fictional non-biological characters do you find relatable? Are human-like features necessary for you to empathize with them? Do they have to exhibit signs of sentience for you to care? #robots #storytelling #gamedev

The "Anastole" has been found in a decaying orbit above a distant star. Scans show that all life pods have been ejected. Time is running out to discover what happened and rescue anyone still aboard. Visit the Patreon to find out more: patreon.com/redspaceinteractive #sneakpeak #indiedev #redspace

A sneak preview of the first game set in the Redspace universe is coming layer today. Follow if you want to be among the first to see it! #progressupdate #indiegames #gamedev #redspace

say it with me: i am going to make and publish a game in 2025 #gamedev #indiedev #indiegame

There are only two kinds of #gamedev: making a game for yourself or making a game for someone else. Do you agree with this statement? Which type of game actually finds the most success? And most importantly, how do you actually define success? #hottake #controversy #indiegames #sologamedev

Despite what we all wish, #gamedev is hard. #sologamedev is even harder. To all solo indie devs, what gamedev Discords do you engage with regularly? What resources help you? #collaboration #indiegamedev #discord #community

Attention Indie game devs who also work full time! What strategies have you found that help you make progress, despite a full work day? Do you wait for the weekend to do most of your development work? What sacrifices have you made? #indiegamedev #gamedev #worklifebalance #passionproject #boundaries

Many older games like Half-Life 1 & 2 were quite linear. Modern games seem to focus on an open or semi-open world. What keeps linear games fun to play? What makes them appealing? What features make them replayable? #gamedev #indiegames #oldschool #half-life2 #gaming

Question for the room: if you could only play one "hard" sci-fi video game for the rest of the year, what would it be? What makes it so good? Do the characters have much to do with it, or is it mostly the setting? #sci-fi #videogames #gamedev

What makes an #indiegame good? What do you want to get out of a game made by one person? What sacrifices are forgiveable? #gamedev #indie #redspace
