Wow. I got sucked into some Txitter scrolling and just wow. It's at least 3x as much of a dumpster fire as I remembered it to be. I genuinely found it hard to stop scrolling because it's all so incredibly awful. I kinda want to bleach my brain now.

I see some people I know/follow here (that I followed/knew there) that still update their Txitter accounts, though they said they left. Is this automated stuff? Is there no way to cut the cord entirely? Why update there if you've left? I'm curious about this. Is it to keep the lights on? Security?

Question: I've been getting my data archives from the old Txitter accounts I have had over the years. If you've left Txitter, how did you handle it? Deactivate? Padlock it? I have no idea what is the best thing to do, now that I'm sure we aren't going to "Bobby Ewing in the shower" to a better time.

This.✨

I got out of the habit of posting thoughts (tweets) when that horrible orange ape was ascending towards his first term, maybe even before that, due to the platform vibe shift towards more hostile jerks getting louder. We have a golden opportunity to get this right, here, this time. 🤞

Aw, shit. Now that everyone is here, I feel like maybe I should actually post once in awhile. 😂 Also, not that I’ve used it in ages, but since it looks like Twitter is truly a lost cause, I can finally delete my accounts. Sad, since I was an early user. Oh well.

Finally decided to try using Bluesky on my desktop because I am so tired of staring at my phone for pretty much everything work-related. I get that mobile is the new norm for so much but that weariness makes me not want to use newer apps at all. So here I am on my big browser. My neck is happier. ☺️

Gosh, Vital Wheat Gluten, you sure are fancy. That metallic blue is unnecessary, but I’m here for it.

My hard drive is probably ⅔ photos of cats, ⅓ work stuff. Not even concerned about that imbalance.

Ok, I took several photos of Milton during his super-cute snooze earlier, but this is the money shot. Gosh he makes my heart so happy. ❤️🥹

Easy (and cozy) like Sunday morning.

2024. Here we go.

End of year burnout is being a little extra this year. Bleh. Kinda leaning into it and allowing myself to go slow. All those things I nearly finished? They will happen, after some rest.

May whatever you experience over the next week or two allow you to feel as content as possible. Have a gentle season, friends. ❤️ Here is an unrelated photo of Milton being the mighty hunter of catnip rainbows. Hope it makes you smile. 🌈✨

Bought this book for myself and it’s amazing. Makes me want to dig out all the half-finished writing+illustrating projects I’ve abandoned over the years. I’ve always made books… one day I will have something published. All part of my bigger goals…

Sometimes I scroll Amazon for a specific thing and there are lots of gibberish “brands” but then you stumble upon one that sounds almost deep and meaningful - but not quite - and I’m tempted to give SOLEJAZZ my money for trying that little extra bit harder to connect.

In announcing X-Twitter's ChatGPT clone Grok, Elon Musk said he was inspired to create it by The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. SMDH. I totally agree with this article that Musk is yet another CEOs who missed the point of their favorite science fiction books. Musk is totally Zaphod Beeblebrox.

A rare look at mating FedEx trucks. The male uses its driver to transfer a spermatophore package into the female's cargo area. Later, she will deposit eggs in sheltered doorways, singly or in small groups.

Connect your electric blanket to a smart plug. You’re welcome. 😘

Had a roof slate come off and hit the garden with such force that it looks like a spade blade sticking out of the ground. Would’ve been a guillotine for anyone in its path. 😬 Storm Ciarán is gnarly.

If you’re having trouble sourcing your ADHD meds, I found mine by getting a Google map of all regional pharmacies. Forget Boots- they’re out. Call the little independent places. Be nice. Thank everyone. Be fast. Ration what you have, and check out the ADHD subreddits - we can get through this. ❤️

Gosh, it’s been an odyssey trying to get my ADHD meds. Apparently a global shortage of certain ones. I managed to find a bottle in a small, independent pharmacy about 20 miles away, but that was insanely lucky. People are literally driving across the country to get medication. It’s awful.

Hi. Perhaps this will help. I’m Jen. Ameri-Brit, artist, ADHD (+ newly discovered autism), nerd, artist, art educator, low-key mega Trekkie, yoga, coast dweller, veggie, former [lots of things], pasta, miso, playlists dominated by 90’s, bi, cat person but will always ask to pet your dog. 70s child.

Scrolling this app while in bed with a cold, feeling that awkward newness of not knowing who to follow yet because I fell out of love with Twitter years ago and didn’t visit it much anymore. And very hit and miss regarding who has an account here (or not). But enjoying random finds and fresh start.

So far, unsure how to find anyone here from “when the other place was good(ish?)”, but I’m still more hopeful that this could be a far healthier place already.

Oh, hello. 👋
