Do you think David Poile knew how much Barry Trotz hated his draft picks when he hired him

Without downloading any new pics, what’s your energy going into 2025?

Holiday roster freeze ends at 12:01 AM on December 28th

Sending all the Rangers fans good tidings in the new year

Lot of GMs in the NHL owe Drury a nice little thank you basket for taking the media spotlight off their teams

i know a thing or two about collapsing hockey franchises but even so what the Rangers are doing is truly incredible to behold

Checking in on the Rangers game

Fighting might give the optics of trying but if you’re going to play badly immediately afterwards, this viscous cycle is just going to continue

Wouldn’t rule out Vaakanainen forcing his way into the Rangers future. He’s doing a lot of things the Rangers like and committing to him isn’t going to be very expensive

Will Cuylle muscling to an empty net instead of shooting from the circles is insane

Rempe, you almost had me man, we were so close

DAL-NYR was almost a Stanley Cup matchup like 6 months ago btw

So Borgen didn’t fix the defense huh

Feel like I might as well set a timer for Lindgren to Tampa Bay at this point

Glad a NYR journalist was finally willing to acknowledge Jim Ramsey existed in an article

Biggest takeaway for me from the fantastic Vince piece is that Drury isn’t even remotely in the hot seat and that they need to split his roles into President of Hockey Ops and GM, where Drury becomes just the President and they hire another GM.

@blueshirtsbreak.bsky.social the theory is looking really really good

This is Drury making space to build the roster in his image. Vaakanainen and Borgen might find their way into the Rangers future but they aren’t players that Drury needs to commit to.

The Trouba and Kakko trades brought in draft picks and pending UFAs. #NYR are punting the season.

Yea we’re going scorched earth folks

Even in literally the best of circumstances where the Rangers tank and win the lottery, there’s no immediate help coming. This is a mediocre at best draft and the best center available (Hagens) could probably use another year in college all things considered.

Barring shocking revelations about Chris Drury, the clear narrative forming about this team is that they are more concerned about playing with their friends then winning hockey games. They were talented enough to do both at one point, that has changed.

Hope the Rangers enjoy the roster freeze!

Good Will Cuylle

What the media left out about the Pegula’s telling the Sabres that the “answer is in this room” was that Terry said that while slowly placing a gun on the table

You ever think about death

NYR social media is not ready for Mika Zibanejad looking really good in the Four Nations tournament. People are gonna go feral if he rips off like 4 goals in 3 games.

Marty Biron I’m sorry but you have been chosen to be sacrificed in a ritual summoning a franchise altering Buffalo - Rangers trade.

@blueshirtsbreak.bsky.social’s “Leon Rose-ification” is gonna be a thing I think. Great listen

We now have Kakko rightfully calling out the coach and passively calling out other players for being way worse than he has been.

We sure the rumored NYR players only meeting was only about Drury? Cause Kakko feels like he may have thoughts.

This really is the definitive take of the 2024-25 New York Rangers season

Sorry I have my gripes about Drury but I’ve never seen a team tell on itself so hard by revolting against the GM for waiving Barclay Goodrow.

The team is on a week long roadtrip 4 days before a week roster freeze. Even if NYR wanted to make a change under these conditions, finding a dance partner is probably gonna be tough to do.

I get this sentiment but it could honestly be a lot worse. Don’t even have to leave the state of New York to see what that looks like.

This should be Kevyn Adams next press conference

Fleeting thought as the NYR slide further: Drury didn’t have the cleanest promotion to GM - it’s been somewhat unclear where he stood with ownership. Do recent actions reflect desperation, or is it indicative of a GM with the footing to make franchise altering moves without fear of removal?

I get there’s an injury potentially there, but Kreider being part of the vet collapse of interest has been the most disheartening part of this

NYR leadership group needs to feel some shame here. They’re letting the younger guys take the brunt of everything

Berard and Cuylle, motors
