Today my younger sister came to visit from NYC. I live in the DMV. My door was open and I was on the 2nd floor. She goes "Marco" as I walked the stairs, I respond "Polo". I hear "arroz" and I respond, "que carne hay". My sister was in stitches. I was supposed to say "con pollo". It was hilarious.

Justice Sotomayor is the conscience of the court. She speaks for all of us. Forcefully. Eloquently. When others do not or cannot. Unfortunately, I worry that her words will go from being dissents to being seen by historians as an elegy for the rule of law and democracy in the United States.
