Today is technically my last day. Yay. At least the director told me to take two weeks PTO I didn't have, so decompressing has been "easier." FML I hate this so much. Never felt so God damn useless. Yes I know I shouldn't feel this way, it's just a job but, it was going to be my career. 12 years.

Does anyone else have the "still in highschool" dreams? I do, and mine have some vague continuity. Last night I realized I've been coming to high school on/off for two decades and I demanded to see a guidance counselor to see if I could get credit for "time served" so I could move on with my life.

I was Laid off last thursday after 12+ years with the same company. I worked my way from the bottom, entry level help desk to a manager of "systems management", fancy way of saying I was a manager of a team who coordinated different technical departments. Sigh Starting over sucks.

Wondering if consumer hardware is going to have purpose built AI hardware built to protect users from malware and their own stupidity in the near future. Imagining a AI co-processor+app that watches your system for anything shady like some signature based antivirus but better at pattern matching.
