Oregon needs to build >100,000 homes to meet the need & solve our housing crisis. We’re working to cut red tape to help us build more middle housing types (think duplexes & condos) that are more affordable & offer more choices for Oregonians #ORleg #ORpol oregoncapitalchronicle.com/2025/03/04/o...

While DC fuels economic chaos, Oregon lawmakers are tackling rising utility costs. The FAIR Act and the POWER Act both aim to ensure fairer rates and more transparency. More here: www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/p... #orleg #orpol

Sen. Aaron Woods was a dedicated leader and a kind soul whose service made Oregon better. My thoughts are with his family and all who knew and loved him. We’ll miss him deeply. #orpol #orleg

Oregon lawmakers filed a record number of bills this year. This week I introduced HB2006 which sets common-sense bill limits to improve transparency, promote thoughtful policymaking & make the legislative process more accessible to Oregonians #ORpol #ORleg

Today the House unanimously passed HB 2008. It bans selling kids’ data, stops geolocation tracking sales, and gives Oregonians more control over their info. A big win for privacy—now on to the Senate! #orpol #orleg

Grateful to everyone who shared their stories at the AG's Forum last week. Oregon leaders are pushing back on Trump-era chaos—protecting health care, keeping families together & defending our rights. Thanks, @danrayfield.bsky.social ! #ORleg #ORpol

Last week HB 2007, our summer literacy bill, passed the House unanimously! This bill is a bold step toward improving our students' literacy outcomes & making sure they have the support they need to become strong readers. Now on to the Senate! #ORpol #ORleg

As Trump tries to restrict access to voting nationally, Republicans in the Oregon legislature have introduced a bill to end our popular vote-by-mail system. This bill is DOA — as Speaker, I won’t advance any bill that rolls back voting rights. #ORleg #ORpol

Dems have been protecting our state from federal overreach since Trump’s first term. Join our leaders on April 17 at 5 p.m. to hear how they’re fighting back—on the budget, education, immigration & more. **Virtual Town Hall info + RSVP:** bit.ly/43KPPqC #ORpol #ORleg

(1/2) I’m excited to join Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield this week for the first in his series of Federal Oversight Forums. These events will be public conversations about federal oversight issues and the work of the AG’s office to hold the federal government accountable

Last week I joined Senate President Wagner on KATU's Your Voice Your Vote to talk school funding & accountability. Oregon students deserve better—we must ensure districts have the support they need. katu.com/news/your-vo... #orpol #orleg

Leaders in the Oregon Legislature say it's time to seriously talk about limiting the number of bills that lawmakers can file each session, after at least a quarter century of discussion and reaching a modern day record this year. My story: www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...

Want to have a say in Oregon’s budget? The Ways & Means Cmte starts their community budget hearings this Saturday in Gresham, then moves to Astoria, Warm Springs, La Grande, Klamath Falls, & Salem/virtual. Details on how to participate at: www.oregonlegislature.gov/fahey/Docume... #ORleg #ORpol

Last month the Oregon House voted to secure funding for the Oregon Health Plan, at a time when national Republicans are threatening to cut Medicaid & Rep. Bentz is saying that if Oregonians lose coverage "it’s because they don’t deserve to be on it" #ORpol #ORLeg

The Oregon legislature is committed to holding our state agencies accountable — ensuring that every branch of state government is doing its job and is effectively delivering the programs & services that Oregonians rely on, and pay for #ORleg #ORpol

Great reporting from OPB on the consequences of out-of-control rent increases in manufactured home parks. I co-sponsored HB 3054 this session to help these parks remain an affordable housing option for Oregonians, especially our seniors #ORleg #ORpol

(2/2) These reforms will help school districts get the resources & support they need, so that teachers can deliver the high-quality education our students deserve. We must take action this session — Oregon students can’t wait for us to get this right down the road #ORleg #ORpol

(1/2) Oregon's K-12 education system is not delivering results for students, despite record education spending. Today I introduced HB2009 to strengthen our accountability measures #ORleg #ORpol

Oregon, like many other states, has a significant shortage of housing. We've been working hard on this issue for years & are showing progress on closing the gap. A Trump trade war will only make it more expensive to build the homes we need. #ORleg #ORpol www.bizjournals.com/portland/new...

Today the House passed HB 2010, which is crucial to funding the Oregon Health Plan & to ensuring our providers & hospitals have the resources they need to care for all Oregonians. Check out this coverage of the bill from @thelundreport.bsky.social www.thelundreport.org/content/heal... #orpol #orleg

This session Oregon House Democrats are fighting to make utilities more affordable for Oregonians. One of our proposals has a public hearing tomorrow in the Commerce & Consumer Protection Committee — learn more about the Fair Energy Act here: #ORleg #ORpol

Last month my Republican colleague Rep. Elmer & I talked with the Eugene City Club about our perspectives on the big topics the legislature will take on during the 2025 session. You can listen in to our conversation at the link! #ORleg #ORpol cityclubeugene.podbean.com/e/2025-legislative-preview

ICYMI: Senate President Wagner and I recently joined KATU’s Your Voice Your Vote with host Steve Dunn to talk about our priorities this session and our plan to get things done for Oregonians. #ORpol #ORleg

This week, two federal judges issued injunctions against Pres. Trump's attempt to change the definition of who can be a US citizen. I'm grateful for AG Dan Rayfield's @doj.oregon.gov work on this case and his commitment to defending our constitutional rights #ORpol www.nytimes.com/2025/02/06/u...

We’re in Salem this week to provide updates on the important work we’ve done this year to prepare for the 2025 session, where we’ll take up legislation on the issues that matter most to Oregonians – housing, homelessness, cost of living, and public safety. www.oregonlegislature.gov/fahey/Pages/...

A healthy economy means we can continue delivering for working families and maintain critical investments in priorities like housing, addiction treatment, and public safety. #orleg #orpol oregoncapitalchronicle.com/2024/11/20/n...
