Farmworkers are the engine of New Mexico’s agricultural economy. That’s why I hosted a roundtable in the Hatch Valley to listen directly to field workers about their challenges and find solutions that benefit the region. When we support rural workers, we build community and keep traditions alive.

🚨 Over the last week, over 500 worried constituents contacted me to share their stories and pain due to federal firings. Communities like Carlsbad, Grants, Socorro, and others are losing hundreds of jobs. DOGE’s unchecked power is hurting New Mexico and our nation.

Last year, I secured a new aerostat pilot project in southern New Mexico - technology that saves lives, keeps our border safe, and modernizes security operations. Investments in technology are the way forward.

In New Mexico, 2,200 federal workers— those who care for our veterans, protect our forests, and keep our communities safe— are at risk of losing their jobs. I'm fighting alongside our NM delegation to stop these unlawful firings and protect hardworking New Mexicans.

Scott Johnson, Catron County's Firewise Coordinator, goes above and beyond to serve NM's largest and least populated county. His dedication to fire prevention and community safety is commendable. Know someone deserving of recognition? Click to submit a nomination. docs.google.com/forms/d/11ML...

Karen's late husband, a veteran, was owed $6,384.68 in benefits and funeral expenses but hadn't received a dime. After our team stepped in, she got the full amount within a month. We're honored to help. Need assistance? Visit vasquez.house.gov/help.

Great news! My Social Security Fairness Act is now law, ensuring that public servants such as teachers and firefighters receive the full benefits they’ve earned. This means that tens of thousands of hardworking New Mexicans will see an average increase of $4,320 in their wallets.

I love New Mexico more than a green chile cheeseburger—and that’s saying a lot.

My #1 priority is New Mexico residents. I work for you, not for the world's richest man and not any billionaire.

Created by a retired firefighter and his wife, Cup of Cozy has become a hub for the neighborhood while funding mental health resources for firefighters. Small businesses like this one are at the heart of the community, and I’m honored to present them with a Congressional certificate of recognition.

Grecia's warmth and enthusiasm affected everybody she worked with, and despite her own struggles, she arrived every day with the mindset to serve New Mexicans. I am grateful to have known her, as she continues to inspire me to improve the lives of all New Mexicans.

Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen stopped by the office— here are a few of our favorite things in New Mexico!

Small businesses drive New Mexico’s economy and make up 99% of businesses in the state! I hosted a roundtable with NMSU Grants Small Business Center, City of Grants leaders and small business owners to hear how I can best support small businesses and grow the local economy.

I will continue fighting to protect New Mexico’s economy and communities like Santa Teresa, Sunland Park and Deming, which depend on trade with our southern neighbor. We need policies that reflect the needs of working families, not the whims of a president seeking headlines.

This Black History Month, we honor the incredible contributions of African Americans, including the rich history and culture of Black communities in New Mexico. Together, we continue the fight for equality and justice in every corner of our state.

I was honored to visit the Zuni Youth Enrichment Project and learn about their program that serves over 1,000 youth each year! Their food sovereignty programs are reconnecting youth with their heritage, teaching sustainable agricultural practices and honoring Zuni traditions.

In NM, our history runs deep & our people are proud. Even in disagreement, we work peacefully to find common ground, uplift all of our communities and work toward a future that benefits us all because we have the same thing in common - we love this state.

My heart goes out to those with loved ones involved in the crash in Washington last night. I will work with the House Armed Services Committee as investigations continue to get answers and ensure tragedies like this are prevented and no family has to feel this pain.

You shouldn’t have to wonder if you can feed your kids, keep a roof over your head or afford health care. The President is playing with real people’s lives, and it’s bullshit. I’ll fight to ensure you aren’t left stranded by an administration that doesn’t understand our state.

Today, on National Downwinders Day, we remember the families and their descendants unjustly impacted by radiation exposure from nuclear testing. I’ll continue working in Congress to extend and expand the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Let’s stand together and fight for what’s right.

Doing away with our constitutional rights impacts everyone, not just immigrants. Sorry, Mr. President, you cannot rewrite the American Constitution with the stroke of a pen.

In New Mexico, we’ve worked hard to protect access to safe, legal abortion, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure this right is upheld for everyone, everywhere. #RoeAnniversary

Tonight, President Trump signed multiple executive orders, including several that are extremely concerning and go against our American values.

Today, we honor the collective work and contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. whose vision, courage and commitment to justice and equality changed the course of American history and continues to inspire generations of fighters.

This afternoon we will witness the American tradition of a peaceful transfer of power. As the new administration begins, I look forward to working with partners in both parties to deliver for New Mexico's families.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of former NM State Representative Eliseo Lee Alcon. A champion for all New Mexicans and especially veterans and active service members, NM Rep. Alcon’s legacy of devoted service will not be forgotten.

My office presented the Marine Corps League El Perro Diablo Detachment 478 with a Congressional Recognition for their dedicated service to providing funeral honors for veterans across NM. When families are going through some of the most difficult times, these Marines continue to answer the call.

Although we came from different parties, Mayor Janway was a good friend and was always willing to work together for the good of his community. He exemplified leadership, leaving behind a legacy that reminds us all to serve with kindness and purpose.

I deeply love this state and all of our people, our culture, traditions and resilience. There is nowhere else I’d rather be. Happy birthday to our great state, Nuevo Mexico!

Today, I voted to certify the election because the peaceful transfer of power is the foundation of our country. I will always prioritize the will of the voters over partisan politics.

I’m here to bring New Mexico values and traditions to Washington and make sure I work across the aisle with my colleagues to actually get things done, for New Mexico and for the American people.

I’m proud to have introduced and co-sponsored over 300 bills in my first term to deliver for you–and my Rural Installation Job Protection Act that safeguards jobs on our military bases was just signed into law!

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a year filled with health, happiness and new opportunities. Feliz año nuevo!

I want to take a moment to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together for our district. Serving you is the honor of a lifetime, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to represent NM-02 in Congress.

I secured the largest pay raise for service members in over a decade this year & I’ll never stop standing up for our service members and their families.

Congrats to the instructors awarded the New Mexico Medal of Merit by the NM National Guard for their outstanding work at Jimmy Carter Middle School in Albuquerque! Their dedication to helping students improve literacy is inspiring.

Wishing all who celebrate a joyful and bright Hanukkah! 🕎

Feliz Navidad, Nuevo México🌲 Hands down, we have the most beautiful traditions - from our food to celebrating our past. May you find yourself in good health and in good company.

This year, I attended over 190 meetings and events to hear directly from you about what matters most for NM!

Carlsbad LifeHouse was recently named New Mexico's top addiction treatment center in Newsweek's 2024 rankings. Their vital work brings hope and healing to our community, and I’m proud to have them serving our district.

Since I took office, my team has resolved over 1,190 constituent case requests. We’re here to make the government work for YOU!

Today, I voted to avoid a government shutdown and stop the Republican chaos in favor of hard working New Mexicans who would have been impacted by yet another manufactured crisis.

To share a bit of good news - the bipartisan EXPLORE Act just passed the Senate, a bill I was proud to support that expands outdoor recreation opportunities in NM & across America, including permitting reform. Thanks to advocates like Outdoor Alliance for leading the charge!

I had a great time meeting with students from NM Jobs for America’s Graduates to discuss career pathways and education in NM. Their ideas and goals are a reminder of why investing in our students matters!

The decision to block the Kroger-Albertsons merger is a win for consumers and workers. Big corporate mergers like this one would have led to higher prices and fewer jobs. As your Congressman, I’ll keep fighting to promote fair competition to lower costs for all New Mexicans.

I'm honored to serve the second district of New Mexico and share how I'm fighting for you on Bluesky now! Regardless of how you voted, I work for you & I will continue to deliver for our district.
