I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

"The Executive may succeed for a time in weakening the courts, but over time history will script the tragic gap between what was and all that might have been, and law in time will sign its epitaph." Somber. Poetic.

This moving and eloquently prescient opinion from the Fourth Circuit is one for the history books. 📖 It's not long, and you really should read the whole thing. t.co/SLN55Up93D

📰 NEW BY ME “I want to live. I beg from my heart that you let me.” This is the story of a young woman's fight for a life-saving abortion and the “pro-life” forces that fought to keep her pregnant and sick. www.reprotruth.com/p/i-want-to-...

When American citizens have to worry about returning to their own country from travel abroad, you ain’t living in a free republic.

It's like Abu Ghraib has gone from a scandal to a fashion statement.

ROTFL.

BREAKING via CNN The IRS is making plans to rescind the tax-exempt status of Harvard University which would be an extraordinary step of retaliation as the Trump administration seeks to turn up pressure on the university that has defied its demands to change its hiring and other practices.

Straight-up untrue. This is not the law. Due process is guaranteed to all persons, not just citizens.

Abrego Garcia's wife: "I will not stop fighting until I see my husband alive. Kilmar, if you can hear me, stay strong. God hasn't forgotten about you. Our children are asking when you will come home ... they miss their dad so much."

HAPPENING NOW: At the federal courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland, Judge Paula Xinis is set to begin a hearing on the government’s efforts – or lack thereof – to “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident who was wrongly removed to El Salvador. Follow along for updates ⬇️

HHS set up a snitch line to report trans kids and their providers. You know what to do... www.hhs.gov/protect-kids...

REPORTER: There are laws on the book that make it a criminal offense to harbor illegal immigrants, like sanctuary state leaders have been doing. Do you think they should be prosecuted and possibly put in prison? HOMAN: Absolutely. And hold tight on that one, because it's coming.

New— Trump's crusade against the American Bar Association continues, this time terminating all grants via DOJ's Office of Violence Against Women. This morning a webinar on trauma-informed representation was canceled moments before starting. ABA sent email attachment to participants (shared w/ me):

Good reporting here. Student paper gets what the bigs have missed. White House is actually threatening to defund all of bostons major hospitals www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

Missouri GOP doesn't give a shit what voters want. They will just say 'fuck you' and pass their own bill to ignore it. What a complete autocratic bunch of jackasses

Tomorrow, she'll claim he was the source of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.

Two mechanisms of moral disengagement here, re Kilmar Algrego Garcia: 1️⃣ Attribution of Blame 2️⃣ Advantageous Comparison A thread +🧵

"We can react by seeing all of this for what it is, and naming it by name: incipient state terror. We can react by associating ourselves with others who are repressed before we are. Only in solidarity do we affirm law."

"But there would always be a question mark in the client’s head: Is my lawyer saying this because he believes it—or is the lawyer saying this because he’s trying to preserve his law firm’s settlement with the government?" www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

The great thing about fighting back against this stuff is that if you end up losing anyway you get the same outcome you’d have gotten from complying but you don’t have to fucking hate yourself too.

Missouri Republican leaders absolutely hate that Missourians voted for reproductive rights, so they've passed a bill giving themselves more power and taking away power from the courts. www.kcur.org/politics-ele...

"Anti-abortion laws therefore have the practical effect of undermining women’s reproductive agency and implicitly treat women’s wombs as being 'state-owned.'" Laws criminalizing abortion undermines women’s right to a dignified life www.stvincenttimes.com/laws-crimina...

A poor young woman who was ten weeks pregnant and had severe kidney disease was denied life-saving abortion. THIS is Bekele's faux-life paradise. www.reprotruth.com/p/machismo-i...

Criminalizing abortion is first and foremost about obedience, about creating docile people and bodies, and enshrining the ability to control people’s bodies as property of the state.

I can remember when this type of crazy thinking made sense to me. Now it just sounds forced, bizarre, and unhinged. Because it is.

If you were wondering how the faux-life movement responding to the fact that an innocent father has been imprisoned in a torture dungeon, or the Orangutyrant sending American citizens to gulags: "Pro-life" is dead SILENT.

"The tyrant will always find a pretext for his tyranny."

❗️Missouri bills (HB 1072 and HB 1417) to give capital punishment to women and girls for being disobedient to the Patriarchy by exercising bodily autonomy will be debated tomorrow.
