The 2024 US elections mirror the trolley problem. From a Utilitarian view, voting for Harris minimizes harm. From a Kantian view, pulling the lever means directly supporting murder. Those who don’t vote for Harris aren’t evil—they just have different ethics.

This is not a war-torn countryside of a Ukrainian city. It is a photo of my Prague neighborhood that I took when I was about ten years old in the mid-1990s on black and white film. It would probably look the same on color film as everything was so grey during that time.

Now, it uncritically supports the genocide in Gaza, was the only Western state with an embassy in Assad's Syria, and through oil payments supports Russia in the war in Ukraine.
