Something that grips my shit is when people equate "graphics" to "artstyle", because it leads to stupid situations where all they care about is fidelity and how well rendered someone's beard is. A cel-shaded game doesn't have bad graphics, it just has an artstyle that chafes against your tastes.

So, discovered yesterday that the recording setup I was using for Shadowplay is now borked. Seems to be on Nvidia's side (shock horror), because looking at the volume mixer, it picks up the sound for a second before going silent. Well, back to recording in silence.

Something I've noticed from the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is that you can tell when someone is coming into it as a Souls player, because they just throw themselves at the hardest difficulty straight away and slam their heads against the wall for hours.

I've realised that I have played 3 games that were released this year, both indie. Partly that's because I remain deep in the retro mines and refuse to leave, and partly because nothing's really grabbed me by the lapels shook me until I played it. Maybe next year will be different...Maybe.
