You all need to treat Harry Potter IP like we’re treating the Tesla brand.

RFK Jr. is using the tactics and language of eugenics. Autistic people are in danger—and this is one signal (among many with this admin) that they gleefully want to cull disabled people. When disabled people are targeted, EVERYONE is a target. (Reminder: Anyone can become #disabled at any time.)

It’s really unfunny to be allergic to sunlight. Especially when I’m a huge 🌱 nerd and amazed by photosynthesis. And it seems a little early to have to hide away or else break out my anti-sun-and-heat gear? But I was just reminded by the Big Ow in the sky: it’s time. #SunAllergy #Disability

The Camus are putting out their first blooms. I always love seeing them. #BloomScrolling

Some people act like caring for others is oppression. I keep getting stuck in the Sisyphean loop of thinking people don’t understand why they should care about others—and so explaining it to them will help. I don’t know how to let go (or if I even should).

Mossy, fluffy, green: A breathing carpet creature Demanding your pets. #NatureHaiku

The fawn lilies are blooming. A reminder that even though I feel stuck in a time loop of fear and anger… spring will arrive anyway.

MAHA bullshit is rooted in eugenicist morals: healthy = morally good. And if something bad happens to your health it’s because you’re a "bad person" (or just a poor person). It's dehumanization to justify eliminating people.

Fascism literally requires dehumanizing marginalized people to succeed… we cannot fight oppression without prioritizing the safety of the people most at risk from fascist principles.

I am so fed up with US-American culture and how people just accept a status quo where we are all going to be sick, suffering, and “individualistic” to the point of harming our communities. And yeah, I am super intolerant… of others intolerance and people that lack basic community care.

Sharing this super valuable thread on how many policy decisions are based on eugenics (and how).

People will say “Oh, you have an #InvisibleDisability, that’s why no one helps you”… and then immediately start pointing out and criticizing the VERY visible manifestations of my chronic illness and/or disability. These are “allies” with deeply internalized #Ableism. Some are disabled themselves.

#Disabled people have no choice! But the people around them and the public do have a choice: to offer to help a disabled person, root out the internal and external ableism, and help fight for policy change… Or are you just going to keep pretending we don’t exist because it’s more comfortable?

Admiring some lichens knocked down by stormy weather (taken the last time I felt well enough to do something other than recover). The textures and colors make me happy and lichens in general remind me we are all collective organisms. #Lichen

The Osoberries are out, reminding us with their early blooms and bright green foliage that spring is around the corner. As some of the first natives to bloom, pollinators depend on this plant. Indigenous people also use Osoberry for food, fiber, and medicine. #NativePlants

I have a cold my caretaker gave me. Despite them always masking, hand washing, being careful, etc. But without them going out into the world I wouldn’t have food, medications, or any of these basic needs met. Mask bans would impact #Disability caretakers, too. Show solidarity by masking in public!

COVID is a mass disabling event. Long COVID is a real problem and has been actively harming high risk people the most. Not masking is a disability rights issue. Disabled people deserve to be in society and by refusing to mask if you're able to is automatically saying we don't belong here.

Long COVID is still a threat because COVID is still a threat. Masking (KN95 or better) is still the best preventative measure. I was hopeful some of the LC research would help us understand other disorders. But now research and healthcare funding is being cut. Dire times. #LongCOVIDAwarenessDay

I am still in the depths of a several-week flare (after anaphylaxis from neighbors doing laundry), but at least this week I’ve been able to walk enough to go to one of the only relatively safe places I have outdoors. And look at the critters in the rain.
