BTW, random question. Just to show something... if you're a cis woman who has been challenged, whether you should be in a woman's space please tell us your story here.

My new favourite adjective courtesy of Terry Pratchett: Fungoid www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/f...

I've been trying to sort out what to say in the aftermath of that garbage speech (which I haven't read because I don't need that), so here goes. Erin's point is important, extremely so. RFK's entire shtick is eugenics: make disabled and elderly folks just *not exist*. 1/6

The current spelling 'marijuana' appears to have been an English invention.

I'm biased because she describes exactly my current thinking and ranked me exactly where I would, and validated my deep research on moving out of the country, but I really appreciated this video from @leejamiller.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLyw...

does anybody have resources on what NASA/NIH/NSF grants have been completely cut, listed ideally by state or institution? 🔭🧪

Kenosha, Wisconsin!

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years as a result of a deliberate strategy. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.

‘Rhyming slang’ or ‘Cockney rhyming slang’ is super fun and a little confusing and probably easier to show than explain. Rhyming slang: “Someone is on the dog for you.” Translation: “Someone is on the phone for you.” dog —-> dog and bone —> ‘bone’ rhymes with ‘phone’ 🧵⬇️

"This isn’t just bad journalism. It’s a deliberate editorial choice that speaks volumes about how establishment media downplays collective action challenging power."

Congratu-BLEEPING-lations! It’s time we had a little talk about your use of expletive infixation. ‘Expletive infixation’ is the linguistic term for profanity inserted into a word for emphasis. (For this thread, we’ll use 'BLEEPING,' but feel free to substitute another word.)

Modern science wouldn’t exist without the online research repository known as arXiv. Three decades in, its creator still can’t let it go.

These notes from universities aren't just useless and cowardly, they're actively dangerous at this point! Your university isn't a "community" if it's allowing people to be abducted off the street because of an op-ed. Real answer is to reallocate all university resources until the student is freed.

The Massachusetts governor, the city, and the university needs to drop everything to locate and free this girl and make sure this doesn't happen again. This is DEFCON-1. If they do this to someone who wrote an op-ed in a college newspaper, they will do this to anyone they don't like.

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
