Pierre Poilievre hasn't been humbled at all. He's still the same entitled dick who lost is own riding seat because he didn't think he needed to put in the work to campaign to keep it. Let the CPC keep him if they want. He will never lead them to govt. That's fine for the rest of us.

Yo, did Australia’s right wing party ALSO lose BOTH the election AND their leader’s seat in parliament? Hilarious. 🇨🇦 🤜🏻🤛🏻 🇦🇺

It's quite something that Poilievre has to scurry over to one of the safest CPC seats in Alberta for a by-election. What a statement of strength and popularity. Any unpopular, off putting, arrogant CPC dickhead couldn't lose that riding...oh wait. #cdnpoli

Pierre running in an Alberta riding that just went Conservative by over 80% of the vote is like me trying to win the local talent show by demanding my parents be the judges www.ctvnews.ca/politics/art...

Poilievre seeking a safe seat in Alberta puts the lie to the idea that he is the guy to broaden the appeal of the party. Can't win in a seat he has held for two decades... and clearly believes he can't win anywhere other than the hotbed of grievance Conservatism. It sends a hell of a signal.

Imagine Poilievre’s whiny outrage if Carney hadn’t won his riding but wanted to stay on as party leader. We would NEVER hear the end of it.

Pierre Poilievre no longer entitled to live at public mansion: Privy Council Office Poilievre ineligible to live at Stornoway after losing his own seat

Pierre Poiliviere has lost his seat & no longer has a soap box to get his message out to the Canadian population. He must now rely on the press to relay his message. The same press he refused to allow to travel with him or ask questions of him during his campaign. 💛 #CosmicKarma #CdnPoli

Poilievre trying to remain as leader of the Official Opposition against the Parliament Act of Canada is breaking the law. #cdnpoli

The Conservatives are going on every political and news show and repeating over and over that Poilievre is still leader, and he may be leader of the CPC but he is not leader of the official opposition and #cdnmedia has a responsibility to make that distinction because it matters.

It is not customary for the Leader of a Party to lose his seat in a riding he has held for 20 years and then run again in a riding he has never been to. Don’t let them make you think that is normal. The people have spoken. #cdnpoli

The NDP and the BQ both got 6.3% of the vote. The Bloc has 22 seats, the NDP has 7. FPTP is so ridiculously undemocratic. I don't know how Liberal MPs live with themselves, knowing they could fix this. I honestly think you can't perpetuate a system like this and be a good, or even, neutral person.

Trudeau: resigns late but graciously Singh: resigns late but graciously Poilievre: will crazy glue himself to Stornaway #cdnpoli

It’s a sad day when it is only the National Post reporting accurately: #cdnpoli

🍁First job in saving Canadians' money is for Poilievre to move out of Stornoway He is a private citizen now 🍁

This is great, especially the last line but... remember that Indigenous peoples are not here to "save us" from politicians with horrible ideas. Our settler asses need to make sure the treaties are respected. Or land back. Or both.

In a Parliamentary system we do not elect Prime Ministers. It is all well and good that Poilievre acknowledged he is not the Prime Minister but more importantly he has not conceded his riding and is acting like he is entitled to remain leader of the Official Opposition, that should concern everyone.

“You gotta hand it to Pierre Poilievre…” no you do not ever have to hand it to the man who said he would suspend our Charter rights.

We need residency rules for our politicians like 🇺🇸 has. So they care about which 🇨🇦 riding they live in. #cdnpoli

Poilievre does not have to “resign” as Leader of the Official Opposition, he is immediately ineligible upon losing his seat in the House of Common. Silly me, I thought #cdnmedia may inform Canadians of this but we have propagandists. @theguardian.com #cdnpoli

When the President of the United States & VP moves out they do it day-of upon inauguration so the transition of power is clear. There is no reason Canada 🇨🇦 cannot do the same. To allow Pierre to linger when he is no longer elected by the people, sets a dangerous precedent.

They need to make it mandatory to have security clearance to be an MP or at least a party leader. It needs to happen immediately. It’s a matter of national security.

Pierre Poilievre is an ordinary civilian now. He is not an elected leader. He has no standing. He has no right to demand we pay for his housing, chef, driver, and maid. That’s over.

Pierre Poilievre attempting to remain as Leader of Opposition *is* not accepting the results of the #cdnpoli election.

Pierre Poilievre is trying to stay on & in Stornaway against the Parliament Act of Canada. He is not eligible for that position. He cannot be the official leader, or remain in the residence, and we’re not letting this go. Canadians rejected him, the #cdnmedia does not get to re-install him #cdnpoli

Here’s a no-brainer going forward in Canada — change the law so that anyone seeking to be leader of a National Political Party should be specifically required to submit for and successfully receive top secret security clearance. Call it the Poilievre Bill.

The Parliamentary rules do not allow for a period of time to wait by a by-election. Our government is meant to function with a leader of the opposition and that leader must have a seat in the House of Commons. Pierre Poilievre does not. The CPC must immediately appoint one. #cdnpoli

I am only referring to the Poilievres now as “the squatters of Stornaway.”

266 of 266 polls reporting, 86,371 votes counted Pierre Poilievre officially loses his seat by 4,315 votes and is no longer a Member of Parliament

Poilievre has officially lost his seat. Glorious day. #cdnpoli

Really remarkable sentence (From Mark Carney's victory speech in the Canadian election: globalnews.ca/news/1115459...)

God does it feel good to see PP lost his seat! Good job Carleton!

Poilievre vows to stay on as party leader for reasons of being otherwise unemployable

holy shit. lmao www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Pierre Poilievre has been in politics for 20 years, he's written 0 legislation; has one of the highest pensions in government. He's voted against the environment & climate nearly 400 times, derailed legislation to benefit workers, and voted against affordable housing initiatives.

If you don’t vote, you don’t get to whine and moan about the government.

Once again begging Canada to bring back "I voted" stickers as a reward for surviving politics.

To all my canadian friends: GO VOTE 🗳️🗳️🗳️

Turn out isn’t close to what we’d hoped nationally. If you haven’t voted yet, please put on some pants & vote 🗳️

The polls are steady but the lines are not as long as advanced polling. Get off the couch and get ‘er done.

Mark Carney is running to be the Prime Minister of Canada. Pierre Poilievre is running to be the Govenor of the 51st state. Vote accordingly.

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure. - Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes - We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles - We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

If you’re in line when the polls close, stay in line. You can still cast your ballot. Your vote matters.

Watch the election results here after the polls close tonight. newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/fe...

Today is the day we relegate Pierre Poilievre to the dustbin of history. Vote!
