Took a break from writing my latest novel this evening, spending time with Amber and watching an old episode of No Reservations. I’ve been reminded of my life long pursuit to one day dine on genuine jamon iberico. That would be paradise. Always wanted to visit Spain. 1/2

So big writing update here - My wizards-meets-goodfellas novel is fast ballooning into an Epic Fantasy. I completed the first act, and at this point it's over 80K in words. I love where it's going, but I also set out to write something focused, tighter, and really fun. So what does that mean? 1/4

I finally upgraded to Windows 11 today (after turning on a required motherboard feature that was off on my board by default). Now I just have to ask @microsoft.com : the “Start” button has been in the same place on the screen for THIRTY years. Center aligning it screwed my chi up for 10 seconds.

Wow…just wrote a scene in my high fantasy mafia novel that left me smacked. The MC got into working with the neighborhood enforcer for one of the nobel houses to make enough money to get proper healing meds and magic for his little sister who was sick with an eventually terminal illness.

In other news non-writing related :) I've had an absolute blast playing @duneawakening.com over the weekend with advanced access. As someone who loves that universe, the books, the movies? The game is such a treat. It sweats Dune out of its Arrakean pores :) Having so much fun.

I remember when @blackeagleops.bsky.social and I got to see the VERY early stages of this game at PAX 2020. After the Trese Brothers took us through a demo, I immediately pulled out my phone and backed the kick starter. It's been a blast to play in EA, but man, my whole night is set now!

Back home with my family safe and sound from an AWESOME On-site with my team in Seattle. Enjoyed the trip, meeting everyone, it was a blast. But wow, by the time I got off the last plane coming home (riding in coach). My body spoke in a Danny Glover voice: "I'm gettin too old for this shit!" LOL

It was a long day of travel from the east coast to the west coast US. But settling in here at the #woodmarkhotel has been great. Took a short walk (as in a handful of steps) to this view from the front doors. Nice way to end a long day of travel!
