Can I just say, I love that @rangemedia.co doesn’t make me write milquetoast, watered down “maybe this is actually a good thing somehow” bullshit, especially when it comes to what’s happening to trans people, immigrants and federal workers in our country right now. Shoutout independent media!

If you look closely you can tell I designed the art: zoom in on the Strike sign ;) Besides Gen Z shenanigans I really did put a metric shit ton effort into researching these bills and turning it into news you can use with easy contact clicks. You’re welcome, Washington 😘

In opposition to Trump administration dramatic cuts to medical research funding, I signed on, as Mayor of #Spokane, to this amicus brief.

True across the entire West Coast.

Y'all, talk to me about RCS. Is this more of go ogle hoovering up our data?

Y'all, meet me at the Central library April 23rd!

I used to believe that caring about the world meant caring what others thought… but to truly make change in a world you deeply care about - you can’t give a fuck about anyone’s opinion Don’t let nobody change your world while you change the world ❤️

Word of the day is backpfeifengesicht (German), which literally means “face in need of a slap”

And again, for folks who don't know, this is the Hanford *nuclear* site.

Y'all, there's a musical of Waitress. 😭 ❤️ The movie was perfect. This is perfect, too.

“We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests.” -FDR, 1941

The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

A Mount St. Helens ranger. A plant scientist on the rolling hills of The Palouse. An entire staff of backup crews meant to support front line firefighters during a raging wildfire. Across the PNW, the Trump administration gutted most of them. Here is their story: www.spokesman.com/stories/2025...

The letters everyone got says their firings were performance based. Even though these people say they have no record of misbehavior. So If you’re a lawyer w/ any insight on employment law, I’d love to speak w/ you — [email protected]

Ezra Klein has a good word today.

This would rip away financial aid midway through their studies from students who want to be nurses & teachers & more. This would be devastating to friends and their kids who count on financial aid. And why, b/c some robber baron's grandkid was too dumb to get into Yale but blamed it on DEI?

The view from Palisades Park, Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, in Spokane, Wash.

Shoutout to everyone who has reached out or engaged w/ me about a story on federal worker layoffs. The impacts appear pretty large. We are facing huge changes to wildfire response, historical landmarks, plant sciences in the PNW. This story is coming — stay tuned // spokesman.com

@goodboyporthos.bsky.social I hope your thing went well and that you are recovering and resting. ❤️💪

Retweet if trans rights are human rights

I cannot overstate how life-destroying it would be for me and so many people I love to lose access to psychiatric meds. I don’t have a pithy metaphor or defiant statement to make here. I’m just scared shitless.

I've taken anti-depressants on & off for decades. They saved me during debilitating depression in college, and later after my father died suddenly and unexpectedly. They helped me be a good parent despite PPD and the long-term anxiety it produced. Antidepressants help people. This is evil.

Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified" This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

New bookstore in town? You can bet that I'm writing about it! Jupiter's Eye Book Cafe is a haven of pure coziness for sci-fi and fantasy lovers in downtown Spokane. Read more about it here:

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

This year, get her what she really wants for Valentine’s Day. Revenge.
