My thoughts on the events in the White House this evening. I stand with Ukraine. 🇺🇦

Mars, Jupiter & Orion’s Belt taken on my phone this evening. ✨

It wasn’t that long ago that the American president wasn’t the daily news headline every single day. Can we just go back to then, please? I’m not interested in his daily ramblings to make himself feel more powerful.

Any normal political party would kick out a politician who lied and behaved with this callous disregard for their country or its allies. But here we have POTUS acting as the PR department for an adversarial state. And no pushback. The US has gone off the rails.

🇵🇸 Forcibly removing people from their homeland & subsequently occupying it is called ethnic cleansing. 🇺🇦 A national leader protecting his country from illegal occupation is not a dictator. And ceasefire ‘negotiations’ without said country is farcical. These things should not need to be said.

Our new bug hotel has been installed this week in our community garden. Huge thanks to our iconnect children and adults for their magnificent, eye-catching painting.

Some days are good and some days are tough. Today was a tough one. Off home for tea and a walk to clear the head.

Delighted to be appointed as a Trustee of Citizens Advice Newcastle, and looking forward to serving the most vulnerable in our city through this brilliant charity. Excited to get started!

St Oswald’s Way…

And so begins the next long-anticipated adventure: St. Oswald’s Way! 😁

Today is a traumatic day, as we remember the liberation of Auschwitz. Humanity has learnt so little in eighty years since the mass murdering of six million Jews. People of the world, look around you. What are we doing?? 'Blessed are the peacemakers...'

The word “Christian” means “Christ-like.” If it doesn’t look like Jesus, and it doesn’t sound like Jesus … let’s not call it Christianity. If it’s not about love and mercy, If it’s not good news to the poor, If it’s not about welcoming the stranger … let’s not call it Christianity. @Shane Claibourne

Today is Martin Luther King day. Whatever else is going on in the world, I remember these powerful words from MLK. May we be light wherever we are this day and always.

Cracking little walk from Seaton Sluice back home with my son today. 14 miles, along some beautiful, frosty scenery. 😁 Good bit of practice for his Gold DofE.

Beautiful sunset tonight.

Cracking clergy Christmas meal last night! (Always in Jan because we’re all too busy in Dec.) Really good to have the local imam and senior mosque folk with us, too. They come every year & it was a really encouraging time together sharing stories. They left us some lovely gifts, too. #interfaith

This is what I choose.

One of my objectives in 2025 is to walk 1,000 miles. So far, so good. 😁

Happy New Year, friends. 🎊 The work of Christmas awaits us in 2025. 🎁

This is me signing off social media for the next week. Have a wonderful Christmas with loved ones, friends, and see you in 2025.

Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, Born this happy morning; Jesus, to Thee be all glory given; Word of the Father, Now in flesh appearing. Happy Christmas, friends! ✨

Here’s a poem called ‘Merry’.

The Christmas Day service is ready! #canihaveaPpleaseBob?
