Today is the birthday of the guy who saved the world from nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His name was Vasily Arkhipov. Things might be very different today, if it weren't for Arkhipov's cool head and logic! He died in 1998 with the rank of Vice Admiral.

I recently saw the movie "The Man From Earth" from 2007. Very clever, intellectual movie with a wonderful twist. I highly recommend it, but be careful not to research too much. This is a very easy movie to "spoil." Available on Prime. #filmsky
