Sitting with a prayer for a season brings all sorts of gifts. As a place shaped by a common life, where we strive for inclusivity, this prayer by Canon Sarah Jones has been a blessing on us in the last few weeks.

Today in chapel the Westcott community held a vigil for Ukraine and Russia to mark the Third Anniversary of Russian Invasion of Ukraine, praying for all who strive for peace and who fight for justice, remembering the cost of war and asking God to help us work for a better tomorrow.

1/2 It was good to welcome back Abigail Ogier, Deputy Head of Chaplaincy at MHA, with us today to lead a session on ageing and dementia for our first years as we continue our ‘Ministry for Life’ series on Key Issues in Pastoral Care.

I should have guessed this would be Sarah's answer!

Know someone who might be great for this role? Send them our way!

I utterly love the supportiveness of the @westcotthousecam.bsky.social community when an ordinand is singing BCP Evensong for the first time. ❤️‍

Did my first little homily in the Westcott Chapel today. It was fun 🥰

Meanwhile, in other news, it was very definitely LIGHT at the beginning of Morning Prayer this morning. Alleluia!

"wrathful remnant" is quite something to get your chops around at early o'clock #MorningPrayer #Psalm76

Westcott House is on bluesky!

Today’s poem takes the form of my Christmas To Do list.

The last full day of term at Westcott House and excitement about the staff choir item at the Christmas Revue is bubbling up through my fabulous colleagues' tiredness.

Can't believe @orkneylibrary.bsky.social were here for 11 days before I realised. I've been working too hard.

If you’re applying for PIP, the charity Turn2Us has launched The PIP Tool: a free guide to navigate the benefits process. Their goal “is to make sure you know your rights and can afford what you need to enjoy life fully.” Share widely! pip.turn2us.org.uk

I see we have a fake Archbishop of Canterbury account this morning. Clearly Bluesky is taking off.

Someone who had a big influence on me at a crucial point in my life died by suicide. One never knows why, but they appear to have thought that the world would be better off without them. It was rubbish (& it haunts a lot of people to this day). I worry abt anything that makes suicide more thinkable.

There are many layers here, but I want to comment on one aspect of these findings for now--the editorial board representation. Some will see this and immediately think: we need to get more POC on our boards! I understand that impulse, but encourage you to think a few steps down the game tree 1/n.

Why are black people less likely to support #AssistedDying? @chinemcdonald.bsky.social explores assisted dying through the underrepresented and distinct perspective of black communities. bit.ly/3ZmwUjm

Dear media, 4 key points keep being ignored in coverage of Get Britain Working/Welfare reform: 1. Stop asking 'where's the stick?' We've had YEARS of stick. Making people ever more scared, hungry, cold & in debt just pushes them further away from work, health & support. 1/3

I can't now remember who on here recommended this article (I had the tab open for days before I read it) but it's a good, short read, with plenty to take for those of of us working in theological education (and no doubt other fields too). asmepublications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
