this is the most recent thinking of bsky pbc on private state on pure atproto. github.com/bluesky-soci... @roomy.chat gets you pretty close to what you want, chatrooms with atproto identity, chats stored encrypted on your PDS but it uses automerge instead of appviews for the chat itself

And here’s the crucial part: Trump and Musk aren’t outside this system, strategically exploiting it. They’re inside it, just like everyone else. They aren’t masterminds - they are products of the same information disorder that is warping public perception.

And because people’s opinions on this are shaped by social media pseudo-environments, they don’t see this as an attack on democracy. They see it as necessary. Their feeds are filled with posts reinforcing the idea that federal workers are dead weight, so they accept the purge.

DOGE isn’t just about government efficiency - it’s about purging federal agencies of workers who won’t fall in line. By mass-firing employees and forcing them to prove their worth, they’re reshaping the government into an institution that only serves those in power.

Neat that it's possible at all. There is a learning curve but the docs are helpful. The tldraw interface is cool, but a bit janky and basically doesn't work at all in mobile.

I want to excerpt practically every bit of this piece, but I'll confine myself to this one paragraph, which contains an incredibly important truth that I've not seen articulated elsewhere, namely: it is *elites* who most obsessively hate "woke."

Paywalls for interviewing Harrison Ford makes sense. A paywall (and not a donor drive) on a report that hospitals are being de-funded for religious reasons is completely insane
