This is essentially Trump’s policy on flood waters from climate change:

Before you cheer this, it would be good to ask what ADM’s climate goals actually are and why they would stick to them.

I've been called a communist for criticizing row crop ag, but then I'm not the one begging for a centrally planned economy in corn & soybeans. So, yes, I endorse this libertarian think tank piece on ending the ag subsidies that have led to severe water pollution. www.rstreet.org/commentary/f...

Bubbly Creek: from decaying hog carcasses emitting the methane that gave it its name to a family of beavers now calling it home. Beavers, which are "better hydrological engineers than humans," aren't protected in IL & can be trapped w/o much restriction. chicago.suntimes.com/outdoors/202...

Don’t make me tap the sign (cc RFK Jr)

I just got off the phone w/ a farmer (& veteran) who received notice he owes $55,000 on a REAP grant for solar panels on his farm that was to be paid in full by USDA. Their bank loaned them the $ because USDA has always come through on their end. Not this time.

You, an idiot: I can't believe Trump invited Big Pharma! Me, a genius: I can't believe you're such an idiot.

I really think it’s best that Elon take some time away from dismantling America to focus on his families

Fact check: True. And a decade plus later, we are still dealing with the fallout.

“Thanks for your email. I’ll be out of the office today, February 20, attending a rally to save the regulatory agencies which have failed us for decades because they are completely captured by the industries they are supposed to regulate.”

E100 or go home

West Virginia, North Dakota, Wyoming and Louisiana (see a pattern?) have all been given authority by Trump's EPA to self-regulate carbon capture in their states. What could go wrong? 1/4 www.reuters.com/business/env...

Yes, but on the other hand, a podcaster who sells the best brain supplements told me that this a conspiracy to usher in actual communism.

Every time I volunteer my time for a good cause, my net worth also goes up by a 100 billion or so

Everyone’s been looking for the face of the Resistance 2.0. There it is. Just look at that thing. Primordial nightmare.

Great news, you’ve collected enough plastics in your body to start forming an exoskeleton. The universe will always bend toward crab.

MAHA gonna lose out to corporate interests Every Single Time

RFK is an undercover (barely) depopulationist who has been playing the long game

Has DOGE... not heard about farm subsidies? They're cutting USDA scientists, which reduces spending by only a small fraction of what we spend on subsidies. If they want to "fix waste", how about the $2B taxpayers send to private crop insurance companies/agents each year just to operate the program?

I’ve been assured by sales reps that glyphosate is so safe you can drink it. Which I do. Several glasses a day. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/w...

Thank god our agricultural system is so wonderfully diverse and resilient, with all those different crop varieties and farming methods. It's not like we're totally dependent on a handful of nearly identical plant strains being farmed on tens of millions of acres.

Occasionally I'll receive these fierce sign on letters from environmental NGOs, demanding radical systemic change on a range of issues, real 'tear it all down and start over' type stuff. But the moment they get to agriculture, the recommendation is for "improved collaboration."

I don't feel much "Leopards Eating Faces" schadenfreude over this Trump voter who got fired from his USDA NRCS job. Mostly I feel sadness and disbelief that so many have been taken in by this obvious con and now we're all gonna pay for it. www.news-gazette.com/opinion/gues...

We're working to get this accident rectified

Ah well I’m sure it’s all above board.

It doesn’t do any good to sue if they’ve already cut down the forest (speaking both literally and figuratively)
