Start to finished platter - creating one of my favorite floral designs, the Flower Box. In less than a minute (in real time it happens over several days), I add layers of underglaze, slip, transfer it onto clay, form it into a platter, cut the edges; voilá: a glazed platter for serving or to hang.

Giving the wings some definition on this Red-Crested Cardinal. This is a new-to-me bird, have you heard of it? I wanted to make a red-headed bird (not fully red, like a cardinal) and came upon this bird, which is native to South America and has been introduced to other parts of the world.

Fish Lady started with someone who was wistful, searching for sanity, compassion. She reflects what many are feeling these days but she hasn't let go of hope, yet. Jumping fish symbolize breakthrough; gladioli for strength and dahlias for confidence. Her face will be painted after the bisque firing.
