Another step for the recognition of animal sentience. @birchlse.bsky.social @sentientism.bsky.social

Do you have a research interest in how AI can harm or benefit non-human animals? I'm recruiting a Research Officer to drive forward the "Animals and AI" priority area of The Jeremy Coller Centre for Animal Sentience at the LSE. Please apply by 6 May! 🐖🐔🐟 jobs.lse.ac.uk/Vacancies/W/...

This should be good!

If you’re talking about moral philosophy please don’t forget to talk about moral scope… “who matters?” It’s probably the most important moral philosophy question. Answering it wrongly can condemn countless trillions of beings - however good your ethical system might be.

I'm retweeting this on behalf of Richard. I'm sure he'd value any feedback you may have.

I'm recruiting a Centre Manager (Impact and Administration) to help run my new Centre for Animal Sentience. This person will be so important to the Centre's mission! Please get in touch if you believe in that mission and want to help make it a reality. jobs.lse.ac.uk/Vacancies/W/...

“If evolution is to work smoothly, consciousness in some shape must have been present at the very origin of things” - It is a pity that after 135 years, this argument of William James is still not refuted, yet left aside by so many philosophers of mind.
