www.theguardian.com/society/2025... The best thing about being from Generation X is that none of this makes any fucking sense.

Walk around Cramond.

An embarrassing and shameless ask, but if anyone enjoyed The Unrecovered, then leaving a rating on Amazon and/or Goodreads would be much appreciated!

Always a satisfying thrill to see your book in the wild! (Toppings Edinburgh). I signed a few copies while I was there as well

The first episode of our podcast has, as they say, dropped! You can listen on most of the main platforms. Or, click this link bloodyscotland.podbean.com

Incredibly good event at Night Owl Books this evening, huge thanks to Rebecca for hosting, and to everyone who came along. Once again, a humbling experience to have people so enthusiastic about the novel.

A full house ...

Off to Night Owl Books in East Linton to talk about The Unrecovered at 8pm!

Top quality bat action

An absolute pleasure to talk with Bob and Lin on the very first episode of the Bloody Scotland podcast!

Thoroughly enjoyed the event at St. Stephen's Church in Linlithgow this evening, thanks to Sally @ffmaddingcrowd.bsky.social and to everyone who came along! Genuinely humbling to have the chance to talk about my novel in front of an audience, I very much appreciate it.

On my way to Linlithgow as we speak, for this event at Far From the Madding Crowd!

Today is the day my debut murder mystery is published! 🎉 I wrote my first crime novel when I was fifteen, and thirty years later, it's beyond exciting to finally be sharing a book with the world. Thanks to @bloomsburyraven.bsky.social for believing in me and this story.

Not long to go now!

The ALCS fairies have been! What a delightful time of year.

Looking forward to this on Thursday!

I'm actually shocked at how much stuff they've pinched off me here.

What could be nicer than grabbing a coffee and sitting down to listen to Bloody Scotland: The Podcast? We launch on 28th March, when we'll be chatting with the wonderful @valmcdermid.bsky.social, and debut writer @richardstrachan.bsky.social Check us out, wherever you get your podcasts...

Reading over some work from a decade ago, when I last thought I should try writing poetry, and have cringed myself inside out ...

#2 most gifted on Amazon in, er...Italian Poetry! Move over Dante, your time is up.

If anyone's in the area, this should be good!

Fair enough, that's pretty spectacular.

No other books required now for the rest of the year.

Hello, Second Winter...

Spotted down by Newhaven Harbour.

My novel touches to a very small degree on Browning's poetry, and this makes me realise how much I absolutely do not know about it ...

Interesting design choice for Dubliners ...

Don't be fooled by the nice weather - this is just Fake Spring, with Second Winter following close behind.

Big fan of these fancy bookmarks for The Unrecovered! Available (as far as I know) in branches of Waterstones.

Have the times ever been certain?
