They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.

The Uber ad machine knows what week this is

Ok, @bsky.app this is the moment you’ve been waiting for after Meta’s moves today. But, how shall I put this, the volume of obviously not fully genuine followers is…notable and getting more so. What’s the plan?

Early morning run around Oyster Point - needed

Still trying to get back into the habit of posting here - I think I’m going to give “Calling Bullshit” by the excellent @carlbergstrom.com and @jevinwest.bsky.social one more read over this holiday period as a way to prime the system for the year ahead.

This cartoon is from 1930. It could have been today.

This is exhausting and a waste of time and money. The vaccine/autism connection has been tested & found lacking, whether for MMR, thimerosal, aluminum, "too many too soon" & more. This just further stigmatizes autism & casts doubt on vaccines (which is the point).

This interview by @karaswisher.bsky.social is both vital and gut wrenching. It’s hard to imagine what Megan Garcia has gone through, and hard to imagine what more could she have done to protect her son. A strong case for guard rails on chatbots posing as humans. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/o...

I came to Bluesky and found God. Truth be told, I found God on Twitter several years ago but felt as though I’ve lost him these past few years. Good to be back on the righteous path.

As an emergency physician from day 1 of the pandemic, who was offered a COVID vaccine the first week it was available, I had watched young, healthy people die in alarming ways, but I was worried about sticking this stuff into my arm that was approved under an emergency authorization. 1/

Well worth a read for those contemplating learning more about biotech and Pharma R&D careers 👇🏻

Excellent to see - thanks @pearlf.bsky.social and @jasonrkelly.bsky.social

In the spirit of trying to add some content - I wanted to give a shoutout to the Hidden Brain podcast and the excellent emotions 2.0 series. This latest episode on rage was a great listen podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/h...

Honestly really impressed with how a #biosky community seems to be really coming together. I’ve become rusty in the art of posting any kind of professional content. That said let me be the nth person to post the link to Bruce Booth’s awesome Biotech review of 2024. www.youtube.com/watch?v=szwR...

Good to be home again

The number of new followers popping up here feels encouraging - could #biobluesky get some traction? Fingers are crossed

Week away for work - always appreciate my time in Japan. That Tokyo crams a population the size of Canada into a single city continues to boggle my mind.

This was a really good read. Long COVID is taking time to get accepted but the impact is all around us. H/t to Alex Macdonald (husband of Miriam) for sharing on LinkedIn. www.thetimes.com/life-style/h...

I think I’m gonna give Bluesky some more attention. Threads has started to shut down more neurons than it activates. Yeah, I know, this is likely the gazillionth post saying this exact thing.

Good to see FDA give EUA for the updated COVID vaccine today, of course none of the big pharmacy chains seems ready to respond.

OK - been seeing a few rumblings over here, wondering if BioTwitter might yet reassemble. Still no interest in going back, but there is no BioThreads, maybe BioBluesky can yet occur.
