After 3 years of Putin's unprovoked aggression, we still stand unequivocally with #Ukraine; fighting not just for their survival, but for freedom, democracy, and their rightful place in Europe. We will not be divided by dictators or far-right forces. We know where we stand and what we stand for.

I will knock a 1000 doors and then another 1000 labouring this point. We have a crisis of fairness in the country. It is that whenever we need more money we tax wages and working people and not the wealth that was made off their backs. The greens are the only political force saying this.

Reject Trump - Rejoin EU. 🇪🇺

One of the best known land marks in Leeds City Centre is the “Barrel Man”, given to the people of Leeds by our twin city of Dortmund in 1980. But not many people know it is situated in Dortmund Square because there are no street signs to tell people. www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/politic...

Europe can’t rely on US for defence - says one of our supporters in today’s @yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk “Truth is our foreign policy & national security is subject to US voters’ whims & vagaries.” Even if we don’t #RejoinEU, Europe needs military leadership: “Anglo-French leadership.”

Finally!! Great news - congratulations to all who campaigned for this 👏👏Now we need to make it as inclusive as possible eg covering colleges & apprenticeships @europeanmovement.co.uk

A small but symbolic campaign - our group, @leedseurope.bsky.social are calling for Leeds City Council to show due respect to our twin city of Dortmund in Germany by installing street signs in Dortmund Square in central Leeds. There are currently none. www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/politic...

European movement chair, Mike Galsworthy said: “This is welcome news. We need to start pulling this country out of the no-growth quagmire of Brexit and start giving people hope for a better, brighter future.”

BREAKING: eastangliabylines.co.uk/news/brexit/... Keir Starmer has finally put a youth mobility scheme on the table! This is incredible news and something we have campaigned on for years.

A little bit of good news at last - our campaign for a youth mobility scheme between the UK & the EU appears to have paid off: 'Dr Mike Galsworthy, Chair of EMUK, told The Independent: “This is welcome news... hope for a better, brighter future.”' www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

🔴 BREAKING: Campaign success as supporters welcome Starmer's offer of a two year Youth Mobility Scheme with the EU, in line with Best for Britain and the UK Trade and Business Commission proposals www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

Rachel Reeves is off to chat with investment bankers about how to boost ‘economic growth’. We’ve got an idea! Instead of chatting with super-rich bankers, how about we tax them fairly and use the money to invest in decent public services for everyone 🤔

Trump calls Ukraine's Zelenskyy a 'dictator', 'modestly successful comedian', who should ‘move fast’ or lose country. Part of the strategy to force Ukraine to hand territory to Russia, mineral wealth to US. What next? Can't trust Trump as an ally. UK must rejoin EU. www.nbcnews.com/news/world/z...

The British people will support Ukraine Trump and Putin are despised

🤝 Sadiq Khan has admitted Brexit was a mistake and that a new youth mobility scheme is needed. 🤦 However, Keir Starmer has said no. 🇪🇺 Only the Green Party is committed to fixing our relationship with the EU and working together to counter a reckless Trump administration.

Reject Trump, Rejoin EU…Repost if you agree

Trump is an enemy of us all. Europe needs to unite - and the UK needs to rejoin the EU. If you want to see that happen… join European Movement UK right now. We’re driving this. ✊

Absolutely spot on by George - -and the faster people recognise this dynamic, the better for our ability we have to protect our values and quality of life in Europe.

A reminder of who has actually provided the most support to Ukraine - and it isn’t the US

@europeanmovement.co.uk CEO & former Minister Sir Nick Harvey giving the closing address to the European Movement conference: “Brexit has proven to be far worse than Project Fear… With the hole blown in the economy by Brexit where is the growth going to come from if we don’t join the Single Market?”

Insightful session on youth attitudes and the impact of the loss of European mobility on Britain’s young people. Thanks to @madeleinakay.bsky.social & Dorothy Herson of Young European Movement for sharing ideas on how to attract the next generation to join the struggle for our European future. 🇪🇺

Caroline Lucas at the @europeanmovement.co.uk conference: “From an environmental point of view Brexit has been the disaster that many of us predicted it would be.”

Energetic Q&A session here today at #EMGrassrootsConference #SaveFOM following the Strategy Session. Join @europeanmovement.co.uk today at www.europeanmovement.co.uk/join2025

I’m at the Grassroots Conference of @europeanmovement.co.uk, of which I am proud to be Vice Chair. Hearing Co-President Dominic Grieve speaking about the threats to European peace & security which are clearly facing us all. There has rarely been a greater need for a mass European Movement. 🇪🇺🇬🇧

A letter from us published recently in @yorkshirepost.co.uk is now online - with links for sharing via email and other social media. www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/opinion...

My latest letter in the Yorkshire Post: “..politicians on both sides of the divide try to avoid Brexit - scared to even broach the subject. Our country can’t afford such fear and neglect any longer.” www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/opinion...

Yesterday our outgoing Chair @richardwilsoneu.bsky.social and our new Chair Peter Packham @leedsblue67.bsky.social gave a presentation on the History of Leeds for Europe to the Wetherby U3A group. About 50 people attended, not just interested in our history but also how we can rejoin the EU.

London. Next Saturday. I’ll be speaking. We are Europe. We are Ukraine. Be there. 🇺🇦 🇬🇧 🇪🇺

Denying refugees citizenship simply on the grounds that they arrived here “illegally” on small boats *when there are no legal routes* for most to use takes cynicism to new heights. If Govt thinks such performative cruelty will see off Reform, they’re wrong - it’s more likely to strengthen it

Farage complains that only 41% of 18-27 year old are proud to be British; down from 80% in 2004. He is almost certainly the main person who has destroyed pride in this country. The treasonous grifter should be thrown out of the country.

Where to even start with this? 1) it’s a clear violation of refugee convention 2) it’s morally deplorable 3) it actively hinders an integration process 4) Labour are politically lost 5) There is an alternative join.greenparty.org.uk www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I'm not making light of the Labour MP WhatsApp allegations, but does anyone agree with me that the contrast between what counts as bad behaviour in UK politics and what counts as acceptable behaviour in US politics is particularly stark at the moment?

High time the UK government respected the wish of the electorate given that we are meant to live in a democratic society.

We're in Dortmund Square, Leeds, today with our street stall - talking about #Brexit and @europeanmovement.co.uk's campaign to get Britain back into the #Erasmus+ work & study scheme. www.europeanmovement.co.uk/this_is_eras...

Is this real?? Sckening - serving up people’s suffering to appease the populist Right. When will Labour learn you can’t out-Reform Reform? Instead, offer a far bolder agenda of green investment in local communities, public services in public hands, wealth taxes on super-rich, & a bit of hope FFS

It has been a honour to lead @leedseurope.bsky.social for the last 8 years, having been a founding member of this wonderful group. I am delighted now to have passed the baton to a worthy successor, Leeds for Europe’s new Chair, @leedsblue67.bsky.social. I will continue as a supportive member!

🤦‍♂️ So Labour are making ads boasting about deportations, with Reform-style branding. Why are Labour trying to be like Farage and his mates? If only the Government put as much effort into creating a fast, fair and dignified asylum system.

I'm not easily shocked, but the sight of individuals cheering on the richest man in the world as he takes away vital aid to the most desperate people on this Earth has shocked me. There are good people. There are bad people. Then there's Elon Musk and his empathy devoid flesh failure followers.

When will Govt learn you can’t out-Reform Reform - you end up simply legitimising their toxic narrative. To see off populists, Labour needs to invest in public services & local communities, making a real difference to people’s lives - levy a wealth tax & use it to improve people’s lives *now*

💥 NEW: Labour voters are *84%* for a youth mobility scheme... ...with only 6% against. What's to lose? In fact, they might even gain some of those 59% of Conservatives and 34% of Reform that support it too.
