The Bagel design team seriously under-resourced the UX elements of how we're going to add stuff to these things. Who the hell puts a hole in the middle of prime spreading territory?

That ostrich acted for us all, Boris.

I wonder what would happen if the UK and Europe ramped up support for Ukraine against the same mineral rights than Trump wanted?

Why has LinkedIn become a procession of photos and videos of 'Bros' in front of the Dubai skyline? I guess that's peak content for the business world.....

Just finishing up the offshoot series of ‘The Walking Dead’ and I’m struck by how much I’d rather be in their world than this one. Albeit as one of the living!

Bright and blustery at Newquay

Writing a book, moving my 'side gig' forwards and advertising coaching services. If any of them paid any money at all, I'd be having a great year so far...

If I'm ever wondering how I'm doing as a human being, I sit down and watch a few video by the Tate brothers. If I'm doing exactly the opposite of their recommendations I consider it a win.

I can't explain my irrational hatred of people wearing baseball caps (which I love) backwards, it just is.

I need to get the washing machine blood pressure looked at.

Yellow moon over Truro #Cornwall

Cold in Cornwall today.

South California will forever be my spiritual home. Even if I can never get back to live there, my hear remains and I will never forget it. It's so hard to see it in flames. I hope everyone stays safe and things are quickly back under control.

After feeling spectacularly let down or unsupported by many people I respected in the world of work in 2024, I'm intrigued to see if 25 continues in the same vein. It's everyone for themselves in the Games Industry right now, and it feels bad.

For anyone else who hasn't seen anything pick up for them in the New Year, don't worry. We're not in the New Year according to the Lunar Calendar, so maybe that's why!

2025, the bar is set really, REALLY low. Do your best.

Well, given the last two games I’ve written the main story for have not launched, I think 2025 is the year to do the novel instead.

Screw you, 2024. I will be glad to see the back of you.

Good lord, the Chef title in WoW is a long trek!

If I had a Porsche at the moment, I guess I'd feel obliged to attach a Christmas tree to the roof and take a picture, just like the other 23984237493827 of them on my social media photos feed at the moment.

I must applaud Royal Mail parcel service. No matter which single hour of the day I rush out to do something quickly after waiting for them all day, they manage to arrive and leave a note that I wasn't in.

My brain writes many stories each day. So few make it any further, I wonder if any could’ve been great?

'24 final thoughts post.

Dramatic Cornish skies this morning

Had a lovely coffee meeting with some former team members yesterday.all agreed we’d rather never return to the games industry if it meant working for a toxic company/boss. Shame that situation is so prevalent in our business .#games industry

Feels deep winter today. Cold, grey and sunless. I wonder if it's possible to just hibernate until March?

I've been doing a gratitude diary to help me through this troubled year. In my things I'm grateful for, I usually put the family car as it helps us get around and me to get my son to school. Guess what? It blew up today. I think 2024 is trying to kill me.

This is... actually a fairly reasonable takeaway from this year.

I think today is the first day I've actually considered quitting Linkedin for good. Interesting.

Another morning arrives and society hasn't collapsed into a post-apocalyptic Mad Max reality. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

The downside on the nightmare political situation in the US looks like it’s heading to a sequel to Les Miserables. The upside? We should get some great musical tracks out of it.

Rough weather today

No matter how awful a year it has been; if you look around, somewhere even if it’s far away, you find see something beautiful.

Games industry leaders? Put your people first.

Photography for the house sale today, of course it's raining.

Some thoughts on the litter tray that is games job searching in 2024. www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

I love December. Crisp air, mulled wine and fairy lights.

Bernie Ecclestone has done well for himself hasn’t he? Is his former job open? I’m interested!

So if I have to leave games because leadership roles are non existent, I wonder how I persuade non games leadership hiring teams that games aren’t nonsense? So far that’s the perspective!

Be sad to leave London today, it would be nice to be based here with the means to support it!
