A pleasure to chat with Tamworth goalkeeper Jas Singh following their recent exploits in the FA Cup. The Staffordshire side took Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to extra-time last month in the famous old competition. goalkeeper.com/news-and-med...

It's #FloodlightFriday and this week's effort comes for Foley Meir of the North West Counties First Division South. Foley are back in the Meir area of Stoke-on-Trent and, this is their second spell at this level having previously played there in the 2022/23 season.

Shaping up to be a lovely afternoon in Alsager. For me it’s a Cheshire derby between Alsager Town and Sandbach United. I will have updates on Moorlands Radio from 2pm.

Love speaking to Neil Baker following a game. Whatever the result he always makes time to speak to us and Tuesday night was no different following a 1-1 draw with Chasetown. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtaS...

Heading on the Ironhour Podcast later this evening to talk all things Chorley FC. The Magpies host Scunthorpe United this Saturday in the National League North.

It's a last minute call up to Newcastle vs. Chasetown. Richard Cooper is in the studio from 7pm and we will have full commentary with James Marsh and myself from around 7.40pm.

We haven't had a big upset in the 3rd round of the FA Cup yet. Can we get one tonight? Dagenham go to Millwall and I spoke to the long-serving Dagenham keeper Elliot Justham last week to preview the game. goalkeeper.com/news-and-med...

If you're going to read one book this year then I recommend Pondy by Nathan Pond & Dave Mitchell. It's the autobiography of Fleetwood Town legend Nathan Pond and his career of going from the NWCFL to League 1 with the Lancashire club.

Just the one team from the Staffordshire County League has applied for promotion and, that is Rocester. The Romans have been in the non-league system for years, only recently slipped out of it after being shifted from the Midlands League to the NWCFL South.

Just transcribed my interview with Elliot Justham and he explains why the FA Cup is important to non-league clubs. 'No one gets to see them because there is no limelight on them unless there is an FA Cup run, and I feel like an FA Cup run can sort of bring out the best in showing off the club'

Just spoke to the Dagenham and Redbridge goalkeeper Elliot Justham for goalkeeper.com ahead of their FA Cup tie a week today. Justham has more than a place in round four at stake as his partner's family support Millwall, the team they're playing.

Heading to Newcastle Town vs. Stafford Rangers tomorrow for Moorlands Radio. Castle with a good win in their last home game against a side looking to climb out of the bottom 4. Updates from 2 on Moorlands Radio.

Today's #FloodlightFriday comes from the Leasing.com stadium the home of Robbie Savage and Macclesfield FC. The Silkmen are looking for their third promotion in four seasons following the old Macclesfield Town being wound up.

Catch my interview with Congleton Town manager Richard Duffy following the Bears 3-0 win at Kidsgrove Athletic this afternoon. youtu.be/TTpX6l2yR-I

The Northern Premier League remember the life of Peter Wragg, former Manager of several NPL Sides and Treble Winner who passed away on December 25th

Looking forward to ringing in 2025 with commentary on the local derby that is Congleton Town vs. Kidsgrove Athletic. Join myself and James Marsh live at the Autonet Insurance Stadium on the Sport Player app from around 2.40 on NYD.

When your trying to do some freelance work and, little Bennett wants to get involved with your work.

This week's edition of #FloodlightFriday comes from National League North side Buxton FC.

A total of 9,805 people watched today's games in the @thenpl.bsky.social West. Stunning numbers for a league that is four leagues below the EFL.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Some great food- the family Christmas day buffet was spot on (historical reasons we do a buffet not a sit down Christmas dinner). Excellent presents including a couple of books I had my eye on. Finally the TV was fairly decent this year.

With 2024 coming to a close in the next week or so, what has been your favourite non-league match that you've attended? I've got a fair few that I've enjoyed. Including Leek Town winning the league and Congleton Town claiming the Midlands League double.

Tonight is the ‘lluvia de peluches’ at Real Betis. The annual tradition of stuffed toys thrown on to the pitch and collected for disadvantaged children ahead of Christmas. An estimated 15,000 toys are expected for collection.

Heading to the Red Industries Stadium tomorrow afternoon as Stone Old Alleynians host 1874 Northwich in the Midlands League. Its a side chasing to get into the playoffs hosting the side 4th in the division.

As we bring 2024 to a close in the next week or two. It's time to reflect on the year. This photo is of Lucy outside the London Eye before we set off to Disneyland Paris the next day. Little did she know what I had planned while we were out there.

Moorlands Radio out in the community recording a Christmas concert to be broadcast Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Starring the Rock Choir, the Ooby Dooby’s and the St Luke’s Church Band. Special thanks to St Luke’s for hosting us!

Final @moorlandssport1.bsky.social podcast of the year recorded. My thanks to the legend that is Ian Corbishley for coming on and reviewing 2024 with us. Podcast out Friday morning on the @moorlandsradio.co.uk website or on your chosen podcast provider.

Good to see Oliver Jepson back at Kidsgrove Athletic. He left around 14 months ago for Bury and then Stafford Rangers but he is back at the Autonet Insurance Stadium.

It's taken three short days rather than 1 long session but, I've finished wrapping Christmas presents for 2024. Should have taken the Smithy approach and do it with tinfoil but alas I haven't. Surprisingly not stressful this year, was that because I did it in shifts? Probably.

It's always nice when a club you've been in contact with to organise an interview ahead of their big game gives you a bell to apologise for the silence and update you on the state of play. I always want the non-league side to do well in the FA Cup but will root for them even more now.

Why does football grounds need these light shows? They are as cringey as when the PA announcer shouts the first name of a player and then expects the fans to reply with the surname.

If anyone has any football shirts they want getting rid of let me know as my son collects them. Doesn’t have to be a prolific year for the club - he just collects shirts overall! Just seeing if I can find some more for Christmas. Give me a RT for the football kit hipsters..

Northern Premier League West results for 14th December. Headlines - Congleton are 2nd with a win over Cheshire rivals Stalybridge - Widnes go 4 points clear with an injury-time winner over Wythenshawe. - three points separate 5th and 12th place in the league table.

This week's #FloodlightFriday comes from this week's trip to Guiseley AFC. The Leeds based side ply their trade in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Saudi Arabia awarded the 2034 world cup. Now I know the team has got to a couple of WCs but infrastructure wise can they cope with it? or will it be like Qatar? That's before you talk about the treatment of women etc.

Enjoyable evening at Guiseley as they hosted Leek Town. Josh Brehaut's men deserved all three points in North West Leeds this evening. However, a point away at 2nd in the league table on a bitter Tuesday evening isn't a bad thing.

We are ready to go here at Guiseley for the visit of Leek. Can the Blues bring back all three points to the Staffordshire Moorlands? Find out on @moorlandssport1.bsky.social.

Looking forward to getting behind the mic for this one. Join me and James Marsh on the Moorlands Radio Sport player.

Chorley to visit Forest Green Rovers in the FA Trophy 4th round. The last time these two sides met (Dec 2013)- the Magpies were two division below FGR, won on pens after two 0-0s. That season the Magpies won the Northern Premier League Premier. Can history repeat itself?
