New South Wales has won the WNCL.

If you feel moved to ‘do something’, you can donate to the #Afghanistan women’s cricket team as refugees in Australia. With no recognition from the ICC, their ability to play as a group depends on funds being raised for a 3yr volunteer-led prog lords.org/refugeefund #ENGvAFG

Interesting perspective looking beyond the traditional 1st Class counties in the men’s game.

I don't think you will fit much Test cricket into the time occupied by the Champions Trophy but I agree with the sentiment. theprint.in/opinion/icc-...

Great stuff from Jo Currie, her special feature is also on BBC iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricke...

Greg Chappell celebrates bowling Roy Fredericks in the 3rd Australia-West Indies Test at the MCG in December 1975. Chappell dominated the series with the bat, scoring 702 runs as well as taking three wickets. Australia won the series 5-1, marking a watershed for West Indies

Reposting this in the light of the match-fixing story with Shohely Akter today - combined with the well publicised oddities that @jarrodkimber.bsky.social noted in the last BPL that some women's cricketers are extremely low paid and that makes them an obvious target for fixers.

Is anyone arranging a guard of honour for Marnus in the second innings? #SLvAus

We cannot cheer on Afghanistan’s cricket team when Afghan women are being silenced | Zahra Joya

Shabby treatment of Peter Lalor by SEN. Ethical journalists are able to separate their personal opinions from their professional work. Media employers should be backing their staff, not caving into pressure from those who disagree with presenters' personal views. theage.com.au/sport/cricke...

Peter Lalor has not only been an outstanding cricket journalist for many years, but a man of high principle and morality. Even when working with The Australian he fearlessly posted in direct opposition to the views of his employer. SEN's behaviour is both cowardly and despicable. Usman is spot on.

Those who moan about the Barmy Army should remember life before them. The Bicentennial Test at Sydney in 1988 was marred by English 'fans' with "precious little wit, or repartee' signing obscene songs clustered round a bare-chested man draped in a Millwall-embossed Union Jack

I can't begin to say how outrageous this is. What sort of pressure has been put on SEN to make a ludicrous decision such as this?

150 runs. That's the follow-on threshold in a four-day game. Last night that was India's margin of victory in their T20 against England. HIghlights: www.bcci.tv/bccilink... #cricket #IndvEng

India are the Under 19 Womens Cricket World Cup champions again. Winners over South Africa by nine wickets with 52 balls to spare.

Of course, it will be India's first womens cricket world cup title since the last one... 😳

South Africa all out 82 after their twenty overs. India 83 runs away from their first womens cricket world cup title.

For those of you unaware that a world cup has been taking place over the past fortnight, the Womens U19 Cricket World Cup Final has just begun in Kuala Lumpur. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first against India. The game is telecast in Australia on Prime Video.

Congratulations to former Glamorgan player Usman Khawaja on scoring his highest Test score of 232 against Sri Lanka in Galle, where Australia won by an innings and 242 runs in the first Test 👏 #OhGlammyGlammy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Umpire Eloise Sheridan finishes the Women's Ashes with just 1 DRS decision being overturned from 15 reviews. Below is the complete DRS table for the series. #Ashes | #WAshes

so, the current standings on the World Womens Test Championship ladder are... oh

Country winning two Test matches on the same day: 5 Feb 1991 Aus beat Eng men at Perth Aus beat Ind women at Adelaide 8 Jul 2001 Aus beat Eng men at Birmingham Aus beat Eng women at Leeds 1 Feb 2025 Aus beat SL men at Galle Aus beat Eng women at Melbourne

The England womens team winless tour of Australia in January-February 2000 was so dismal that such a performance could never be repeated again... or could it? Cricinfo's match reports by yours truly of those four ODIs exactly 25 years ago can be found here: static.espncricinfo.... #cricket

A thrilling contest building between the Australian men and women to see who finishes their Test first. Both looking for an innings victory. #Ashes #SLvAUS 🏏

"ESPNcricinfo understands that there are 11 individuals involved in the consortium in total, five of whom are yet to be named publicly." I think we need to know who the other five are.

A collector's item just before Mooney was dismissed - Filer was no-balled by the square leg umpire for having three fielders behind square on the leg side. Wyatt-Hodge at deep square leg had to shift. Not sure I've ever seen that before in 40+ years watching pro cricket! #Ashes #WomensAshes

Ellyse Perry dismissed in a day night Test for the first time Now has an average in pink ball Tests - 284.0 #AUSvENG

Mitchell Owen is in a position to win two T20 tournaments in a short space of time. Paarl Royals flew him in to replace Joe Root.

Congratulations to Josh Inglis of Australia for a century on debut. He got to three figures in just 90 balls which made him the second quickest debutant centurion in Test cricket after Shikhar Dhawan of India who got to the same landmark in a mere 85 balls. #cricketcounts
