What the heck happened here? 😲 🚨 On the 2nd week of my #Lingo #CGM journey, for educational purposes I delved into my 1st provocative ‘nutrition’ experiment. As you can see, the results were… ugly, and predictable. Note: I’m a young, healthy, athletic control subject. More details to come…

So, if the first humans who walked the earth millennia ago consumed food solely due to a biologic and evolutionary imperative to survive, then where did things go wrong when humans started to eat food based on pleasure and reward?

Totally 😎

My friends, let's go back in time. 300,000+ years ago. When the first humans evolved on Earth. Our ancient ancestors were living in caves. They were starving. They were competing and fighting for survival. There were limited resources. The Earth was hostile.

There are no words for this madness. Gift 🎁 link ⤵️ wapo.st/41q9tXf

A great many years ago, when I was a green second year medical student, I vividly recall rotating through the office of a private Pediatric Hematology-Oncologist in rural Texas. @shematologist.medsky.social

Would it be advisable for me to eat for the sake of eating? Would it be advisable for me to go about my business and continue fasting until my body signals me that it is ready for a new round of nutrients? 🤔🧐

After last night's meal, a 'quicky' 15-minute resistance training session before bedtime, and a 20-minute resistance training session this morning, I've approached a 16-hour fast. Neither my stomach, nor my brain, is signaling hunger. Why is that? 🧐 What should I do? 🤔 #Healthyliving

My friends, as the world burns and our democracy slowly disintegrates, a friendly reminder from a good place: please, do tend to your mental & physical health. You have control to live healthily.

My friends, health is wealth.

One week into my second journey with #Lingo #CGM, I'm pleased with my summary stats. My average glucose (encompassing both fasting & postprandial) was 81.

I just finished another delicious & healthy #MediterraneanDiet style dinner. Baked salmon, roasted broccoli & cauliflower, romaine lettuce, bell peppers, onions, sun-dried tomato, carrot, celery, walnuts, whole wheat rye bread, topped with extra virgin olive oil & fresh lemon juice. #Healthyliving

Tonight, I’m dining on a half serving of this amazing King Bay #salmon from New Zealand. 🇳🇿 #MediterraneanDiet

The verdict? As I had predicted, there was a healthy postprandial response to a healthy & well-balanced meal. The postprandial glucose peaked at 90 and did not make it out of the normal fasting range (70-99).
