We're all feeling the chilling effects of climate injustice, economic inequality & authoritarianism. Where can we find shelter? In the past 4yrs the #CommunityResourceExchange has collaborated with 200+communities. With them, we're stitching together a quilt of resistance. πŸ‘‰New blog bit.ly/CREQuilt

"Under our current development model, almost all environmental and social risks are borne by local communities and almost none of the rewards are actually received by them. And that needs to urgently change." Radhika Goyal, @accountcounsel.bsky.social Policy Associate, shares a message to PDBs:

New op-ed: As the world’s largest MDB, the European Investment Bank has the chance to become a responsible development actor β€” but if and only if the institution properly addresses long-standing deficiencies of its Complaints Mechanism & commitment to accountability bit.ly/4kEQIad

If public development banks don't change their mindset, we can't expect any change at all, says Jessica Holles from Instituto Maira in #BrazilπŸ‘‡#FinanceInCommon2025

They're calling it "the summit of solutions". But can solutions come from the same institutions creating & exacerbating the problems? This week we'll be at #FICS25 with +50 community & CSOs activists: they are the real experts, who know how truly #just development should look like. bit.ly/4kcG7TJ

The @eib.org is heading to the #FinanceinCommonSummit. Will the Bank keep backing business-as-usual, or will it finally break from a Global North-driven agenda that sidelines those most affected by the crises it claims to tackle? We’re watching πŸ‘€

We look forward to joining @rightsindevt.bsky.social and other civil society organisations at the #FinanceInCommon2025 Summit next week. To achieve a truly just #EnergyTransition, public financiers should be investing in 100% renewable energy systems, putting people’s rights & needs before profit.

When devt banks, authoritarian governments & oligarchs go low, we in the Coalition go high with solutions that unite us. Check our #AnnualReport to read an analysis of key trends, stories of community-led struggles, an overview of our work in 2024 & upcoming plans! πŸ‘‡https://bit.ly/CHRDAnnualRep

Our #AnnualReport is out now, and it's much more than just another annual report! As the world is engulfed in the climate crisis, conflicts and systemic injustices, it might seem impossible to find hope. Yet, in 2024, we have seen more and more communities holding powerful actors accountable.

This month, together with +35 members and partners, we will join the #FinanceinCommonSummit to make our voices heard, and denounce how development banks - way too often - are exacerbating the impacts of the #climate crisis while talking about sustainability and a #JustEnergyTransition.

What if local communities could be more than just beneficiaries, but rather architects of their own future? In July we'll host a gathering in Kenya where our Global South members can strategize on how to shape a future based on care, dignity and justice. But to make it happen, we need your support.

We’re at the Eurodad conference in Barcelona discussing #EconomicJustice4All. International development banks must commit to promoting and securing inclusive decision-making to ensure transition impact, especially in countries where civic space is shrinking. www.eurodad.org/event_euroda...

At a time when we need policymakers to pass (& protect) strong laws, not rely on weak certification, the new Consolidated Mining Standard is exactly the wrong move for human rights & environment. More in @josephwilde.bsky.social + my joint piece in @euobserver.com: euobserver.com/eu-and-the-w...
