DFRC Base 42 min @ 10:45 42:45 4.01mi Windchill 36-44F Could hardly ask for a better tune up run before the year’s first 5K. I have run this holiday 4 pack for 3 years, starting my fourth, and tend to finish in the top half of my group. 2 years ago I was third. Hoping to get back there Saturday.

JD Vance has the aura of a guy in a video game who would try to trick you into walking up to a cliff just to push you off. That’s right: he’s basically a chinless, sycophantic Patches, without the odd likability.

And England leaps ahead of the US in conservative jackassery…

DFRC Base 60min @ 10:45 1:00:06 5.49mi Windchill 36F gusts past 30mph A much better run today, there were several times when I had to pull myself back, until the wind started doing it for me. Almost tripped myself at one point, kicked my calf. Dunno if I’ve even mentioned it, but I have a 5K Sat.

DFRC Threshold 2x16 @ 8:50 2x10 @ 10:45 5 @ 13:15 57:02 5.13mi Felt AWFUL on this sad effort run. Not too sick or sore or anything, just drained. No caffeine this morning probably a factor but I won’t let that excuse a poor effort.

MAGAts don’t seem to worried that the president of El Salvador seems to have more authority than they do.

Comparing Target and Costco isn’t just about DEI policies. The two are in different retail niches, and that matters too. Costco’s bulk purchasing is meant to be money saving, where Target’s niche is literally just being more expensive. A bad place to be right now.

DFRC Long Run 1:37:00 @ 10:45 1:37:13 8.85mi Windchill 40s A surprisingly good run after I made myself sick the night before eating uncommonly rich food. Strong through the first five, had a couple of times in the second half that I had overcome mental fatigue, but I did so very well I think

DFRC Base 42min @ 10:45 45:03 4.02mi Windchill 28F So cold. So sore. So tired.

DFRC: Lachryma Edition Base 54min @ 10:45 54:43 5.01mi Windchill 36F 2 bunnies spotted 13 plays of Lachryma by Ghost Really brought some good effort today, a combination of many factors: Less pain Dryish weather Low wind Good tunes Good sleep Happy for it, but I’ve got two 90mim+ runs coming

I miss the times when stock market manipulation involved frozen concentrated orange juice and Ralph Bellamy

DFRC Base 60min @ 10:45 60:07 5.43mi Windchill 37F, barely spitting rain Remember a few weeks ago when I thought I was doing great? I appear to have been quite mistaken. Honestly, not surprised, just working through an abnormal amount of pain in my hips and heels.

I am in significant pain. This is not a post seeking aid, it is merely a notification.

DFRC, belated edition Threshold 2x19min @ 8:50 2x10min @ 10:45 5min @ 13:15 in between 1:03:40 5.66mi Windchill 25F Managed a pair of 4 minute bursts at pace, but 19 is a laughably impossible goal. Aches and pains were really mounting up too. I ran at 8 like always, but my hips still ache.

Kidnapping. Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping. Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking. A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.

I’m 72k words into this novel. Hope to have it done by the end of spring. Hopefully there’ll be people able to buy it then.

DFRC Base 60min @ 10:45 60:08 5.5mi Windchill 35-32F rain throughout. steady after 2 miles. Today was a determination run. The kind where none of the the other neighborhood runners are out. Good call on their part, because I was freezing. Pretty quick, though. Had to pull out my poncho at 2miles

DFRC Long 1:24:00 @ 10:45 1:24:05 7.43 mi 57F 83% humidity This was a good run through 5 miles, but I lost steam on my big hill at the 5mi mark and struggled the rest of the way. Also had stomach issues starting around 6, not helpful.

DFRC Base 42min @ 10:45 4.0mi 44:12 57F Hardly even rained at all on this gloomy Saturday, and I recorded my best avg pace in several days (because the run was shorter). Tomorrow should me long to start the new week, but the weather should be good. It won’t stay warm next week though.

I cannot wait to tell my 11 year old that there might not be a Switch 2 for us because his grandpa hated non straights and non whites.

DFRC Base 58:00 @ 10:45 58:07 5.12 64F, sprinkling 94% humidity This up and down weather week continues to grind me down, but I’ve still hit my 30 mile weekly goal with a day to go. We’ll see if the watch asks for the 90 minute run it was forecasting or not.

DK’s hard hat makes me think Diddy is the new DK.

DFRC THRESHOLD 2x 16min @ 8:50 2x 10min @ 10:45 5min recovery in the middle 56:06 5.0mi 51F rain throughout from sprinkles to steady rain. A very rough day weather wise led to a slow, bad run. Also found out that pressing the wrong button on my watch ends the phase, which was a surprise.

Sure, $80 is preposterous for a video game, but Nintendo is obviously hurting for money. Those guys were wearing sloppy, ill fitting clothes representing a major corporation.
