Nothing like a great soccer weekend in a new city to help grow my young scarf collection. Big thanks to the @riptides.club for being welcoming and open with STL peeps Friday and Saturday. Had a lot of fun enjoying San Diego with my wife. All in all - great trip!

San Diego FC coach Mikey Varas regarding the discriminatory GK chant heard tonight. He also later went on to say that it didn’t emerge from the supporters group section. I can also confirm that it didn’t seem to emerge from that area of the stadium and more so from general seating.

While the game was incredible there was a slight stain on the evening. The discriminatory chants that were yelled are unacceptable. We pride ourselves on being welcoming, and representative of our community. We have worked too hard for people to attempt to ruin that. We will not tolerate this.

Seems relevant to talk about how MLS has a cap. Its confusing but @tombogert.bsky.social tries to explain it in this video. Very relevant for any San Diego FC fans that are trying to get their bearings on it all. This is from a year ago so the numbers won’t be 100% accurate to the 2025 season.
