I had the honor of staying a night at the European Southern Observatory while visiting Chile with family. I’m not much of an astronomy guy but the night sky is fascinating and yes, we are very small.

For those birding, have a happy and fulfilling Christmas Bird Count.

Happy Thanksgiving. This year, I’m thankful for always being in the minority. It’s beautiful.

I’m ashamed that my nation funds so much in arms used to harm innocent life overseas. Conflicted. as after any international trip I’m reminded of how truly American I enjoy being and am.

What’s been most overlooked and ignored about last nights debate was that Trump accused Biden of acting like a “Palestinian” as if the word is a slur. Biden’s response was to show how much he supports Israel’s war on the innocent. Are we now okay with an ethnic group being an acceptable slur?

Attended a good friends 50th birthday (he’s older than me btw). Seeing familiar faces is nice but plucks at a certain string of sweet pain and emotion.

My new year started with sighting a rare bird “the cattle tyrant” in Corpus. Off to a good start but we’ll see what’s in store the rest of the year. #cattletyrant

Praying for a ceasefire and an end to the violence.

Finished reading/listening to The Rabbit Hutch by Tess Gunty. A wonderful read crafted by brilliant writing. Highly recommend.

Assalam a’laikum. Hello and peace to you all. I hope we all see the good in each other.
