Hands Off rally/march in PDX had a huge turnout today, with a strong feeling of camaraderie and support for one another. We were walking the middle of the pack, and people were still spilling out of the plaza onto the street when we turned onto Morrison Bridge.

Happy Fred Rogers’ Birthday. He would be 97 years old today, and taught generations of kids to be kind to themselves and others.

Was extremely offline yesterday and went to a beautiful community singing event where masks were required, and it was so relaxing. Highly recommend.

Everything is terrible so I want to post about my favorite dude, my Dad, and how he became an organizer in his 80s. My dad is head of the old folks' caucus (their name, not mine!) at church. As their rep, he attends the church elders meetings and he thinks he doesn't say much in those spaces. 1/

Well, food is about to get a lot more expensive, and I manage stress by info-dumping, so I'm gonna share some of the survival strategies I learned spending my first 30 years food-insecure: First: Cooking in large quantities and freezing some for later is more cost-effective than cooking every day

Here is an interesting adjective quirk that you probably aren’t even aware you are doing. In English, adjectives seem to follow a specific order: opinion - size - age - shape - color - origin - material - purpose - noun

I saw a money-saving tip on tiktok: when you're about to buy something that's not necessary, ask yourself if it's really worth stimulating drumpf's economy, and usually the answer is no. Except books, of course. Books are always necessary (esp queer/bipoc/disabled books so they don't disappear!)

Just thinking about Matthew 21:12-13. No particular reason.

With alt-text. The Parable of the Talents is a novel by Octavia Butler. It was published in 1998, a sequel to The Parable of the Sower (1993.) Both were award winning books.

Spite is a perfectly acceptable motivation for creating art.
