When to visit the Klamath wildlife refuges, one of the largest wetlands west of the Miss. The refuges are in great shape this year no more drought. Nice to see the refuges so healthy last year they had a botulism outbreak it killed many birds.

Birdcast estimated Klamath had 2,324,400 migrating birds last night. birdcast.info. Bird alliance of OR said this. The wetlands within this refuge are the largest wetland complex west of the Mississippi. It's estimated that @ 80% of the Pacific Flyway waterfowl rest & refuel here during migration.

Java finch/sparrow looks a bit like a miniature puffin. It is on the IUC red list of threatened species due to pet trace and loss of habitat. They are quite common in Hawaii, originally from Indonesia. #finchfriday #birds #nature

Sunlight filtering through a fig tree. Fig trees are critical to tropical ecosystems. They are a keystone species thanks to the fact they can produce figs year round. Thanks to the tiny wasps that pollinate the figs. #sunlight #photography #nature
