To mark the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, I had the opportunity to discuss the past, present, and future of mass atrocity prevention and the Responsibility to Protect on the University of Glasgow Spotlight podcast. Grateful for the chance to reflect on such an important topic.

My latest article is out now open access with @coco-journal.bsky.social. 'Gaza and the failure of atrocity prevention...' examines the need for closer integration between the cosmopolitan harm duty and atrocity prevention under the R2P. Many thanks to all those who provided feedback along the way.

Heading back to the UK today after a great ISA2025 in Chicago. So much brilliant research being done by so many talented people.

My latest article, 'Farewell the Responsibility to Protect? False death, grave crisis, future opportunities', is now out in International Affairs. Thank you to the team at IA, reviewers and those that offered comments along the way. May interest those at #ISA2025 academic.oup.com/ia/article-a...

Like most others I am absolutely staggered by developments in Syria right now. Praying that this is the start of a progressive and peaceful future.

What a historic day for Syrians and the world! It shows the potency of rebel coordination, the fragility of externally propped-up regimes, and how poorly we predict civil war dynamics. This is closely watched by rebel forces in Myanmar, the junta, and its supporters in Beijing!

Received this lovely gift this morning from one of my former dissertation supervisees who’s graduating today. Always nice to feel appreciated; especially in week 11 of a long and tough semester!

Indeed. "Last Christmas" by WHAM! was and always will be superior.
