Ok we live in the future now. I used voice to text to give a task to Codex in ChatGPT to add a small feat to a client app. It let me know when it was done and with one click a PR was made in GitHub. I reviewed and merged the PR and the feat deployed.

📣 New Feature in Indie Buckets - 📅 Custom Date Ranges You can now set a custom date range to view profitability and transactions. Along with the being able to choose the current month, previous month, and current year you can view your data for any timeframe you want.

I am trying out Codex today from OpenAI. I am going to use it to add custom date range selection to Indie Buckets. After adding my backend to Codex it ran through my codebase and highlighted a grammar error in my login code email. Really good first use.

We're having thunderstorms this morning which means I have a lap accessory until they stop. Let's see what 2 hands and 4 paws can get coded up 👋 🐾

Woke up to see that Indie Buckets has been listed on tinylaun.ch today 🎉 If you have a moment to support Indie Buckets with a vote that would be amazing 💪🏻 I have been looking forward to launching on this site! www.tinylaun.ch/launch/2989

The first half of this month has been crazy. I think I’m on the other side of it now. Ready to clear things up a little so I can get a run at Indie Buckets. Also wanting to dip my toes into Swift UI.

Putting on my iPad since I don't use it a ton. First have to confirm my apps work and don't have weird UI issues, but second I just want to play around with the new hotness.

Setting the vibe today with Third Eye Blind. Always a go to when I want some fun energy in the office. open.spotify.com/playlist/37...

I tried vibe coding for the first time yesterday. It was for a client project on a platform I have never worked with before. In about 4hrs I got 95% of the way through the entire project scope without writing any code myself. Here are some initial thoughts I have.

Indie Buckets launched on Top 10 today. Exciting to get it out in front of more people, top10.now/

I always look forward to WWDC, but this year is a little different since I have built a couple mobile apps. Excited to see what Apple has in store for today.

This week felt like a marathon. Progress made on projects, but need the weekend to get them fully wrapped up. Also have no choice because there are other projects ready to start and finish next week. Pressures on 🫠

Initial Switch 2 feelings - everything is quality and just better. Looks great when connected to a tv. Pokémon Scarlet runs amazing. Like sooo good compared to how it did on the og Switch. Everything is fast, snappy, and looks crisp.

Pretty stoked on the Switch 2. I will let this be motivation for the workload today. There is too much priority work that gets done for me to only play games today. I promise 😬

I’m taking some pressure off of myself when it comes to my own apps. I flip flop frequently in feeling like a failure and being proud of progress. I’m here for the long haul and progression is what’s most important at this point. Not $10k MRR.

I got 5hrs of deep-ish work done on a client app I am wrapping up today and it felt good to sink in without constantly being pulled out of focus.

Overwhelmingly everyone suggests using TypeScript. When using it with Next.js I am finding it cumbersome to manage separate or optional data for types when I have broken up managing data for a model.

I feel like I need to be convinced why TypeScript is worth it. I'm not looking to be an employee and I'm in complete control over my backend. For the size of apps I build I am feeling like TS gets in my way more than it might save me in the future. Why do/don't you use TS?

Looking forward to this week and kicking off a new month. Lots to wrap up and my focus is likely going to be in a bunch of different things instead of just one.

Heads down on client work this weekend. Using some Rage Against The Machine to keep vibes high.

Indie Buckets earned the #1 spot on @solopushcom when it launched this past week. Thank you for the support! www.indiebuckets.com/

Productivity = ☠️ Internet outrage

Hey 👋 Indie Buckets just went live on SoloPush. If you have a moment to help support with an upvote that would be incredibly appreciated! solopush.com/product/ind...

Pretty clear in the numbers that when I am not actively pushing it gets real quiet. Wrapping up major client projects this week and need to attach June when it comes to marketing.

It’s been a long and busy day. Started a rewatch of LOTR over the weekend and kicking off The Two Towers tonight.

Decided today was a good day for a blink run. Starting with Enema of the state and going through each album until I call it a day. open.spotify.com/album/652N0...

Used Watch It! To narrow down and pick tonight’s movie. Added 9 movies to the queue, then me and my wife voted on each, removed some, and only focused on the ones we both voted yes for. We let the app pick what to watch out of those. Literally the exact reason I built this app.

I typically have super productive holidays because everyone else takes the day off. Have a hard push to complete a client app this week so really going to need that focus.

A user who cancelled their Train Factor trial a couple weeks ago just came back and subscribed to the monthly plan. Thanks 🤙🏻

Gearing up for Memorial Day weekend. Specifically catching up on client projects. I have two app builds I am behind on and need to wrap up before the end of the month.

It’s hard to tell how much time you should or shouldn’t spend pushing something. I’m not there yet, but I’m also ready for the next project. Indie Buckets is still being worked on though because I know it’s a helpful tool. I at least know it’s something I want.

Running an experiment today and not wearing my glasses while I work. I have a lot of code to write today so 🤞 this doesn't backfire. Man I'm old 😅

Eye strain has been disabling this past week. I have spent maybe 30min with my glasses off while working today and my eyes feel more relaxed. Going to try a whole day tomorrow. Either way likely time for an updated prescription and frames.

Just finished filming for my next video. Talking about post launch marketing on Indie Buckets. TLDR - I have no f*#^ing clue what I am doing.

We have severe weather coming this afternoon and going into the evening. Feels like I have this ominous deadline looming over my head today.
