It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

One month into the new Administration, Elon Musk commends Donald Trump on the work he has done in the job he has assigned him.

Lolsob 🥲

Here’s my prompt for #ChatGPT and the result: Create an image that distills the following quote from The Great Gatsby and presents it in as an oil painting done using combination of romantic and surrealist styles:

The problem with circumscribing the definition of treason as in Article III §3 Cl 3, is that in lieu of preventing tyrannical excesses of government, the framers condemned us to miss and therefore encourage less technical but still profound betrayals of the country which endanger its survival.

Can’t wait to tune into the next episode of “Which Crucial Public Services and International Alliances Will Get Destroyed Today?”

This lawless oligarchy is filled with monsters. How can they sleep at night? The deaths of all these innocent people for no reason. Just pointless cruelty. It’s on us. Our nation in its reckless folly has become a curse upon humanity. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Just reflecting on the upcoming German elections and in the wake of the US’s betrayal of western values and alliances, I cannot recommend highly enough that everyone read Richard Evans’s trilogy about the Third Reich. I’ve read it twice. Pointing to obvious historical parallels is usually lazy; 1/2

He talked about wanting protesters to be shot in the leg and so since November I’ve been like “I’m not getting shot in the leg.” But there’s strength in numbers. So now I’m like “He can’t shoot us all in the leg!”

Seriously the least disgusting thing in this photo is the nose picking.

“We are the law” really sounds so much better in the original French.

The Constitution: “He shall take care that the laws by faithfully executed.” Trump: “I AM YOUR EXECUTIONER!”

An important discovery this week is that if you want Elon Musk to go away, one strategy is to remind him on his own toxic platform about his paternal responsibilities. Perhaps this only works for his baby mamas, but at this point it’s doubtful he knows who those are anymore, if he ever did.

I know this app needs to be monetized so that it is long term sustainable but I am old enough to remember the halcyon days of YouTube videos that didn’t interrupt you every few minutes with some ridiculous ad for garbage unless you paid a monthly fee.

I just want one single US Senator to actually care enough to stand in the breach. Every illegal outrage can become a point of order or an inquiry. Every ruling of the chair can be appealed. A vote can be forced on everything. Votes stopped by quorum calls. Senate Dems take us for fools.

MAGA: You criticized Trump and so we’re coming to your house to shoot and kill you. DEMS: You cannot say that. It’s an actual threat. MAGA: Democrats hate Free Speech and love censorship! DEMS: We have to fight to preserve democracy. MAGA: You said the word “fight!” Go to jail!

Oh noes! The #LeopardsAteMyFace again!

My biggest concern re AI is emergence. Current tech exhibits emergent behavior characteristic of complex systems, which doesn’t just make it unpredictable like chaotic systems (ie weather), it’s unpredictable in that what emerges can be completely new and unexpected.

There are certain billionaires on the left who I do really try to like but just can’t.

I'm sorry but I'm just not going to be cowering in fear of these clowns. They suck and they are cruel but they are not God.

The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already without a shadow of doubt what is laid before him. –Tolstoy

I’ve always wanted a Manhattan apartment. Now I have an extra reason: the potential to vote against Eric Adams.

Over the past few years I have done a real deep dive into early 20th century German history. I have read dozens of books on WWI, WWII, the Weimar Republic, the rise and fall of the Third Reich, and fascism and totalitarianism. There are so many important lessons we can take beyond “Nazis=bad.”

Still thinking about how perfectly constructed this is

We could’ve had the thoughtful guy meditating on the legacy of Anne Frank but instead we got the guy actively campaigning for the party composed of the people who want the world to forget her, and ultimately to forget all who suffered and died as a result of the Nazis’ hateful racist ideology.

When I read the 27 grievances against George III which are listed in the Declaration of Independence, I can’t help but think, “that’s it?” You want to know what a real tyrant is? Let me list for you 27 things that happened in just the last few weeks.

The real crisis is that not enough people care enough to preserve the Constitution.
