Good to see Australia's national science agency, CSIRO, has now stopped posting on main over on toxic Twitter, and is archiving the account. They are choosing to post elsewhere. This is a big, but very good, move I applaud it 👏 Twitter has been an important comms tool for Aust. Govt. agencies.

My cat seemed to be hunting something near the litter trays so I shifted one with my foot and exposed a huntsman spider. Cat poked spider. Spider fled. Cat caught spider, picked it up (over my protests) and...took it into the lounge room.

I've muted some selected words because of all the chaos you-know-where and with you-know-who (all of the who-es). It doesn't work for images but hopefully will reduce the doom in my scroll. It's the first time I've tried this so giving it a 24 hour test.

I've used Containers for Change four times - once via a machine and three times via home collection. The machine had issues and it was difficult to report it. Each collection has been undercounted - including the double bagged one to ensure nothing could fall out...

In Australia a city of 234,000 people has received a year's rainfall in a few days. The media are simply reporting 'a metre of rain fell in Townsville' like it's no big deal'. That is 40 inches of rain. 5 inches is enough to make a dry river flow. Second big flood event in Townsville in 5 years.
