That sounds absolutely terrifying. Hopefully you and your dog are not badly hurt?
And yes, agree with you about some owners needing to do much better at training and keeping their dogs under control.
Some people are worryingly complacent about potential consequences.

I can see it getting to the point of a strike.
Especially if he starts banning drivers over swearing etc. He's clearly got no idea what it's like to be in the cockpit trying to do 5 things at once at 180mph.
No-one wants a title to be decided by drivers missing races for such petty reasons.

Agreed.
And the longer he stays, the more worrying his actions are getting.
Plus the amount of resignations over the winter... it does not bode well. I have serious concerns about the stewarding/race direction etc for this season.
He'll ruin the sport by the end of the year at this rate.

Ridiculous for people to be putting pressure over his seat when he's only done one race and the season hasn't even started yet.
I'm excited to see what he can do in F1. I just hope he gets a fair go - preferably without any mid-season line-up shenanigans like we see at RB/Red Bull.

And now it's raining... as if today wasn't chaotic enough already!

Imagine if this was later in the day when the sun had set - or in the middle of a night race!
I'm sure F1 will investigate, but surely they need to do better at putting contingency plans/measures in place, rather than just assuming these things will never happen?

I'm starting to think some people have forgotten that earphones/headphones etc even exist.
At the library, we get teens coming in after school, playing their music so loud the whole building can hear it.
Which is not cool when it's sweary and we've got the local nursery class visiting 😮

Have done this myself this morning.
Also looking to move to another email provider.
They've got such a monopoly on these things that it's good to remember other providers actually do still exist.

Thank you for posting the link.
Have now started using it myself.

As a Brit, I'm baffled by how much coverage it gets over here - and the fact it's been increasing in recent years, even though no-one really cares about NFL.
I try to ignore the whole thing anyway, and that idiot's involvement will be further reason to avoid it like the plague.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I lost my mum in 2023. Even though she'd been ill for a long time, it was still hard to process. You always have that hope someone will get better.
You have my sincerest condolences. And I'm sure you have the support of the LOTR/Tolkien community on here.

Indeed. My dad is coeliac, and we have the same issue with cost of gluten-free food.
It's particularly annoying given that no-one chooses to have allergies/food intolerances.
It feels like companies/shops are punishing people - or taking advantage of their medical necessity for specific food.

Also, depending on location, income etc, people may not be able to buy alternatives to meat/animal products.
Even in supermarkets, vegan/dairy-free etc can easily be 2-3 times the price of regular.
In these very budget-conscious times, people shouldn't be shamed for what they do/don't/can't buy.

How many more lives have to be lost before the US realises that obsessing over deadly weapons (and even allowing them to be "blessed" in church services) is sickening?
My friend and her partner will be spending Christmas traumatised and in shock.
It shouldn't have to be like that.

Dad doesn't often get emotional, but admitted that he was moved almost to tears to hear children/young people worrying about something as basic as having enough food to eat at what should be a celebratory time of year.
Says everything about the state of things at the moment.

The speech during Zooropa:
"I run... into your arms. Are they open? I'm not dangerous. I'm *in* danger... I'm *in* danger...."
And the change to the lyrics of Pride has stuck ever since.
Also, the DVD dropped the "Un**** Greece" screenshot compared to the TV broadcast version.

Thanks for the reminder - I have just done this for mine.
(And thanks Kristin for reposting it so I could see it).

I hope they're going to be OK.
Giving you a big hug. And don't worry if you can't post as much as usual. It's understandable in a situation like this.
Wishing you and them all the best.

I don't think that's weird at all. If they've inspired you, then go for it.
Also, if readers haven't heard of them or listened to them before, it may encourage them to do so if they know a favourite author likes that band.

I'm still in too.
Although that could end this week with having to go out shopping.
We'll see. In some previous years, there's been some very random ways of hearing it that have put me out 🤣

Also, the limited availability is crap for people who don't live near (or can't get to) an independent record shop on specific days.
We are then left struggling to find the releases after that - with prices inflated even further out of our reach by greedy online resellers.

It's that paradox. On one hand, we're grateful that he lived when he wasn't expected to.
Equally, it felt like he was ripped away from us just as he was doing well at college and really building his future.
Christmas this year will feel weird as it brings back all those memories of last year.

As he got off the bus, his friend nearly left his backpack behind. We laughed.
I'm glad my last memory of my nephew is laughter and a hug. In many ways, that summed him up.
At birth, he wasn't expected to live more than a few hours. But 23 years doesn't feel like it was anywhere near enough.

It's similar on the News section of the BBC website.
Science isn't on the top bar, but relegated to a drop-down "More" menu listed way to the right of "Culture" which is the last of the "main" news topics.
There is a Climate heading, but it would help to have Science there too.

It seems to be OK now... probably just the website stressing out.
Steadily finding my LOTRO and U2 friends etc.

Jumping over here from the other website, where I was RM.
Will get a pic up soon on here, just getting sorted.
