The local E30 3 Series Touring is still going strong and looking a perfect fit in classy surroundings. Also, I've always had a bit of a thing for estates with the same rear lights as saloons. I'm odd like that.

This feels like when you're playing with 1/64 cars and a sibling tries to join in with a 1/43.

Austin A40 sounded charmingly flatulent as it blezzed past on the A316.

Fab to see an MG ZS180 still around. Still seems a bit wild to imagine Rover putting its own design of V6 into the hull of a Honda Civic. KV6 sounds great, too.

My battery charger looks like an evil robot Zoidberg

It's school trip in 1991 time. I'm packing Marmite sandwiches, a Trio, a bag of Spicy Tomato Monster Munch, a Blue Raspberry Panda Pop and packet of cola flavour fizzy Chewits. And I've borrowed my Dad's Olympus Mju camera.

Time for my occasional Mk1 Ford Ka worship post. My parents' R-reg was an absolute riot to drive. Dad found one of the spark plugs had corroded into the head. That plucky Endura-e (crossflow) mill functioned along similar lines to the tech that George Stephenson used to deal in.

The R129 Mercedes SL. Deliciously subtle. Not a line out of place. Almost plain by today's standards, but then I could eat vanilla ice cream by the bucketful.

I occasionally think of the Skoda advert with a Fabia made of cake, and it makes me feel hungry.

Posting a Fiat Stilo in case nobody else does today (fairly safe bet). I think these look great.

On Sunday evening, here's a Peugeot 206. Built in Coventry, and they were everywhere when I was at Uni. I never really liked them, though. Bit of a damp squib after the 106, 205 and 306. Nice to see one being cared for, though.

Tidy E36 318i. It's going to be a fairly sedate drive, but a damned enjoyable one.

The world will be a less colourful place when the Isleworth Barchetta finally turns up its toes.

Here's a Class 455 Electric Multiple Unit. It's almost as old as me, and I'll be sad when they're no longer around.

Possibility that this Honda CR-V's boot-mounted picnic table doubles as a Black & Decker Workmate.

V6 Mazda MX-3! Sounded glorious. Wobbly pic, but vital live-action reportage.

Lifestyle-ready Saab 9-5 Aero is always a welcome sight, and subtle sticker for local specialists Abbot Racing suggest it's in good hands.

Every time I see a first or second-gen Honda CR-V, I wonder how often its boot-floor picnic table is used - or even if the owner knows it's there.

Acceleration figures as badges could be the next Injection or Turbo.

Eight cylinders on the drive and good roads on my doorstep. Life is good.

BMW Z3s look better and better with every passing day.

It costs a lot of money to look this cheap. Distressingly gopping.
