I've chosen to avoid this wave of AI altogether. I'm not interested in becoming one with the machine. If they are willing to spend time and money training artificial intelligence, why wouldn't I do the same for the real thing.

Amsterdam devs - I'll be speaking at this event, talking about how we build Workers KV on Workers. Stop by, learn a little, and say hi!

Basically traps AI crawlers and sends them down an "infinite maze" of static files with no exit links, where they get stuck and thrash around for months. Once trapped, the crawlers can be fed gibberish data, aka Markov babble, which is designed to poison AI models arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...

I’m a highly regarded Senior Technical Project Manager who specializes in building distributed research networks for health outcomes and drug safety studies. My current job is entirely federally funded. If you’re in industry (especially in EMEA) and could use that skill set, let’s talk!

De-Nazify shit.

We just raised the Workers KV namespace limits for all Cloudflare accounts, from 200 to 1000 Folks had been running into those limits, especially teams building multi-tenant applications who split KV data by tenant. That’s now a thing of the past! developers.cloudflare.com/changelog-ne...

“We were all stuck selling products that broke only after a few years. Now, we’re finally innovating by cutting to the chase and selling products that are already broken.”

The entire tech industry right now

Jamie Dimon is no leftist — he just understands that hiring top talent means casting the widest possible net

If you see this post, quote with a bridge from your gallery.

“You are a sprinter!” Hell yeah I am! Actual AC was 395. Good improvement since getting off the couch but now it’s time to crank that MAP and FTP.

Hey network - do I know anybody working in Alzheimer's, Dementia, or Parkinson's research? If so, could you DM me? I want to explore the current role of technology in research across detection, treatment, and quality of life aspects.

In my race this weekend I was involved in two crashes. The first I was hit from the back left. The other rider went down hard and DNF. I stayed up. The second I was hit from the back right. I went down hard, got back up and finished. Here's what that taught me about B2B SaaS.

No one could have predicted this

I've done an unusual number of mentoring calls this week, and one thing I'd like to remind everyone is, you are enough, and you can't forget how far you've come. You're most likely in the best position you've ever been in to build on top of everything you've done until this point.

Hit my goals (finished, not last) despite going down in a gnarly crash around 11.5km from the start. Headwind on the return was absolutely brutal. Climbs and obstacles were strong though! www.strava.com/activities/1...

I see we’re doing this again.

Today's chapter presents new skills for managing teams - not just multiple individuals, but cohesive units that work together to achieve a common goal. robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

Today's chapter was my favorite so far, with lots of actionable advice and a section on a topic that fires me up every time - micromanagement! robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

Regulation matters

In today's post I pick a bone with the "Tech Lead/Manager" (TLM) role. Don't do this to your engineers. It's a recipe for burnout without much of a chance for success, even in the short term (but especially over the long term). robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

Today’s post is on mentoring and informal leadership. Also added a video explainer to yesterday’s post. RSS feed and search fix coming soon, I hope! robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

First post of the Engineering Management Book Club is up! (Comments and likes via Bluesky coming as soon as I can figure out why they aren’t working; no earlier than this evening). robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

Lord help me I’m doing A Thing. A chapter a (work) day as I work through a few books on engineering management. Come follow along! robsutter.dev/posts/leader...

Let’s talk about Stream Live’s design, and how it leverages the distributed nature of Cloudflare’s network, rather than centralized locations as many other live services do. blog.cloudflare.com/behind-the-s...

The last great smartphone. Perfect size, weight, and feel. No meaningful improvements in functionality since. I would rock this today in a hot minute.

If I could sum up my philosophy in building systems it’s “Never invent a space pen when there’s a perfectly good pencil at hand.”
