Irving Thalberg (producer): "What’s all this business about being a writer? It’s just putting one word after another." Lenore Coffee (screenwriter): "Pardon me, Mr. Thalberg; it’s putting one *right* word after another.” #screenwriting

JFC, I can't stand film snobbery and will never get why terminally online film nerds (looking at you Film Twitter and to a lesser extent, Film Sky) insist on acting like smug assholes about movies. You're not better than anyone else who has a different taste in movies.

My man. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCR7...

The party of men and manliness is a parade of dickless wonders.

If. You. Ever. Get. Close. To. A. Humaaaaaannnnn…

My credo.

We will see how dead the MCU is in the next coming weeks as entertainment media milks the fuck outta Daredevil: Born Again.

So, the interview process was essentially, "Would you follow an illegal order?"

Again, these elected Repub officials who have the majority shouldn't be getting any sleep. Their phones should be ringing off the hook. Especially the ones up for re-election next year.

I’m curious to see if Brave New World didn’t exist, would the people that saw it see these other movies instead? That’s the conundrum.

Members of an autocratic regime that has moved decisively to consolidate unchecked power in the American government are now willing to speak candidly about that regime's hideously unpopular goals, signaling a lack of fear of backlash expressed through the ordinary channels of democratic opposition.

There is a Vanity Fair article about Republicans fearing political violence from MAGA if they go against Trump, yet they never seem to think the violence will happen if they fuck with MAGA’s income.

Not to be that guy, but what does it say about the industry that this will probably be the biggest movie until the summer?

Based

A lot of Americans don't actually care much about policy, because they don't trust government to solve their problems. Instead, they just want someone to blame when they're struggling. And the GOP gives them scapegoats in spades.

Over 25% of the population of Ohio receives healthcare coverage through Medicaid. The contempt that Ohio Republicans have for their own constituents knows no bounds.

Ahmaud Arbery went for a run and never came home. His murder shows how white supremacy and weak gun laws are a deadly and unjust combination. Change is long overdue. Let’s honor Ahmaud with action to disarm hate.

And it backfired on them. They took over the party and fast forward to the weirdo nuts we have now.

You can draw obvious parallels between the way men speak of Patriarchy and the way white folks speak about racism. Both are eating away at you from the inside - you are not exempt from the impact - but you do have a choice on how you confront and destroy it in your own life.

I’m so genuinely sad for the beautiful people I met in the Ukraine…. Those red areas are where I was.

Let’s get back to talking about “real cinema,” guys. Amirite?

Next week is when we will see entertainment media stop talking about the MCU so incessantly since it’s dead, right?

I totally forgot the wave of panic our media & the T*a P*rty spread about ACA. Had people at those town halls FURIOUS & TERRIFIED about… more accessible health care. For themselves. And their families. But that’s America. Get mad & angry about the things that help keep you alive🙃

Beset by bad reviews for poems that would not be admired until after his death, John Keats, 25, dies on this date of tuberculosis in 1821. His final work, Ode to a Collapsing Lung, concludes: "Coughing is truth, truth coughing, that is all. And ye morons know not good verse from thine own assholes."

One of the worst talking points from the election by far. People keep claiming no one warned them when they just weren't listening.

Masterpiece

These are the types of town halls that Democrats faced in 2010 for passing the Affordable Care Act. I know that’s insane to face such wild anger for expanding health care access to 40 million people but that’s what happened. Then the Tea Party wave of 2010. Point is though, this is very effective.

This is so spot on and it's why I kept trying to push back against dumb discourse like "Well Kamala should've sat down with Rogan." A big piece of the reason Trump won again is because they manipulated ignorant people and boosted outlets that deseminated misinformation.

Mood:

I do feel bad for people that are getting fucking over by Trump/Elon. Same time there is a hard line stance that needs to happen regarding folks dealing with the consequences on voting for that idiot. End of the day these voters thought they were exempt from the fuckery.

While removing myself from the main outlet I had to engage with my audience outside of work has been (mildly) existentially terrifying I do have to say it's been so liberating taking back control of my online presence and just... using my time to do other stuff

It’s also comical that they hate blue states so much but the Texan wasn’t the right choice here lol. They really do tell on themselves. Also wtf is Elmira.
