It is a big day for #EliteDangerous today, and a new day dawns across the cosmos. Surviving invasion by a hostile alien force, humanity has the chance to solidify its position. And once again the fate of the Galaxy is determined by the community of commanders, blazing a trail across the stars. O7.

@markmoxon.bsky.social My Mode2 Elite is starting to come together on my emulator. I've got more colours than I know what to do with, and have just drawn a barely legal triangle. Assuming ships don't move, its possible to flood fill triangles.

Yeah. I can draw meshes with colour lines, all eight colours are available, and enough wiggle room to add a few extra triangles to each ship. #retrocomputing #elite A few dead pixels because of a bug in my line removal. And no backface culling yet, but the game is afoot.

Its #Retrocomputing #Elite time. I've been quiet on this, trying to maximise pixel throughput but am now rendering lines on the coprocessor and rasterizing on my (emulated) 6502. Veterans may realise how sneaky this antialiasing is, and I'm hoping it'll look good on a CRT.

Heya #dnd #retrotoy people! I completed the set. While the composition as a whole looks fine, the plastic, joints, articulation, balance... just everything is bad once you have it in hand. Two stars for quality, but it does make a cracking display if you don't feel like you've sold out.

My #retrocomputing adventures continue with the #BBCMicro tube bus. Essentially high bandwidth serial bus, connecting to a Raspberry Pi unlocks more than the usual 64K addressable space. I'm not saying I CANT write games that fit into 32Kish, rather that having an extra few hundred kilobytes helps.

Ok #RetroComputing people. I've got a small amount of #BBCMicro 6502 code written this week. A draw loop to prove a neat technique I've been working on, and then I guess I'll be on the demo scene. I wrote my own #Emulator for the project and am on the brink of adding debugging tools. Wish me luck!

I'm enjoying the #Christmas induced confusion. Who would have thought that my BBQ bluetooth thermometers were not fully charged and ready to go in the Winter. Put food in oven, guess how hot it is, serve. I'm sure the breakfast presecco and brunch beer have not contributed to the days confusion.

Now work has quietened down for a moment, I've made time to play with some #Dinobots in my #Retrotoy collection. Vintage G1 Snarl looking tiny next to it's chrometastic gigasaur counterpart. The engineering and transformation of this guy and his iconic silhouette in both forms. Perfection.
