I humbly suggest you don’t avoid your own dark night of the soul. In the deepest depths of your despair, remember: only when you go through the burning of your entitled ego will you be useful in the struggles to come. And only then will you be of any use to yourself. rogerhallam.com

And yes, the carbon sinks are collapsing, and the carbon budgets are fucked. And unless there is a massive turnaround, we are going extinct. (See my blog "Why we're going extinct") rogerhallam.com

1. The most important fact of our lives - temperatures have been going up exponentially since the 1970s and we will pass 2C in the next 15 to 20 years. After which feedback loops will be triggered and we will continue past 3C and 4C. It's revolution to remove carbon regimes or its extinction.

The Situation is Beyond F**ked. Billions of Refugees, Economic Collapse & Mass Extinction. I've led 100,000s in the world's most influential movements against this death project. Join me in resistance - subscribe for strategic insights and actionable campaign updates. rogerhallam.com

1. "At 3C or more of heating by 2050, there could be more than 4 billion deaths, significant sociopolitical fragmentation worldwide, failure of states (with resulting rapid, enduring, and significant loss of capital), and extinction events." Institute of Actuaries/The Guardian, 16 Jan 2025.

In case you haven’t heard this yet... In this podcast, Ash Sarkar reflects on the night of the Labour Party conference when I called everyone a cunt—and the impact it had on the room. Listen here:

It's Revolution to remove carbon regimes or its extinction. You can sit around waiting for those you love to die or you can get off your arse and do your duty: revolt. rogerhallam.com

1/2 Do you get it yet? You kill Nature and Nature kills itself, and then it kills us. Nature has no morals, no plan, no shame. Do we want to love each other and so love Nature - or do we want Nature to kill us? That is the question.

1/4 We could crash permanently through the 1.5C guardrail within the next five years, and shatter the 2C limit as soon as 2034. This will almost certainly result in the tipping points for collapse of the Greenland and west Antarctic ice sheets being crossed, ...

1/3 Get it - the first time you go hungry will be when the European crop totally fails - combined with a bad year for wheat and rice (staples). "There are growing fears that food shortages could lead to unrest.

We must build our own backup systems. Don't face your fears alone—connect with neighbors, create support networks, and help those struggling. Strong social ties make us more resilient. Start building participatory democracy at the local level to tackle what we can fix ourselves.

Guess what @rogerhallam.com claimed in 2019. Guess what even Forbes Magazine dared to write in October 2023 (based on an international study). www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...

“At 3°C or more of heating by 2050, there could be more than 4 billion deaths.” The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries are in the business of making accurate insurance judgements.

1/2 The context we face is locking in billions of deaths and the idea our present political and legal classes can respond effectively to such extremity is beyond a joke. Sign up to my monthly strategy talk to join the community. It's time for Revolution. rogerhallam.com

I gather @extinctionrebellion.uk is at a strategic crossroads. I’ve started a Bluesky to write about where it should be going next, something I've been thinking about since 2019. TLDR: organise assemblies and become the direct action movement backing up their decisions. 🧵
