Clear eyed analysis of Deep Research from Ben Evans: www.ben-evans.com/benedictevan.... Easy to hand-wave away and retort "scaling", but if 'intelligence' = log(resources) we're still a ways away.

Interesting from the IJF: theijf.org/crombie-libe.... Obviously this is catnip for me: "Liberal leaders have failed to win a seat six times compared to PC leaders’ five since general elections began in Ontario in 1867."

Important data from the IJF on Liberal party leadership donors given we're directly picking a prime minister. theijf.org/carney-donor...

Can we please all agree to give the next Econ Nobel jointly to Lars and Abel for actually bringing the science to the prize in economic sciences.

If Canadian universities had a bit of vision, they would be launching a Manhattan project to poach every US-based top researcher. And the federal government would be drastically expanding tri-council funding and creating an expedited review process for those holding NSF and similar grants.

Why must the writ for an election be a Wednesday in Ontario (it's going to be some small-town Canadian thing like Ted Rogers and Galen Weston always played tennis on Tuesday, or something, isn't it!)?
