Something that I've noticed in the past few months- Requests for autism accommodations, so I can have a seat at the table, have been denied from orgs that hadn't been that way prior. This isn't just government spaces, but mental health orgs, even nonprofits.

Are you seeking an #actuallyautistic queer panelist for #paxwest to talk about: -Neurodiversity and TTRPGs -Using games to build self advocacy skill -Nonviolent game design -Getting into applied RPGs as a career If so, hit me up, things are tight financially but I would love to be at PAX this year!

Just hit 100 on this list! Let me know if you'd like to be added :) P.S. Anyone who considers themselves disabled is welcome, you don't need an official diagnosis I'm not your doctor LOL bsky.app/starter-pack...

For the July/August issue of @motherjones.com, I dived into Elon Musk's relationship with Aspie supremacy and how it's promoted online. This ideology, coined by the late autistic blogger Mel Baggs, also dehumanizes autistic people with high support needs. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

I'm at a panel on smart home tech, and it's interesting some of the new actually helpful AI tools are coming out, specifically on in home observation- building motion profiles of people. While it sounds super surveillance-y, being able to detect falls, seizures, etc. immediately is super important.

At the Washington DSHS Community Summit watch party. Glad they found a way to do this event even with the budget shortfall.

Don't know who needs to hear this but- Nothing About Us Without Us means accommodate us.

Talking with some parents of disabled kids, and the thing I keep on hearing is this- "If that budget passes, my kids won't get to grow up." If you have a senator who is planning on voting for this, call them.

Little bit of hope.

It's pride, so let's talk about autisexuality. Autisexuality is how autistics experience sexuality, and superficially implies attraction to other autistics (which I very much am, of any gender.) However, there's a lot more to it than that.

Looks like Panel Submission for PAX West is open. Anyone interested in doing a panel with me? I can talk about the following: -Using TTRPGs to develop healthy identity and self advocacy -Designing nonviolent TTRPGs -Applied RPGs/Using TTRPGs for social good -Neurodivergence and TTRPGs

Something I occasionally do, when thinking about the narratives and perspectives of autistic children, is to Google "my autistic son/daughter" and look at the autosuggested searches. They're never good. Never "My autistic daughter is creative" "my autistic son loves hugs." Just heartbreaking.

At the King County disability resource fair, hosted at Microsoft. First disability resource fair I've been to at a big tech corporate campus, but it's interesting.

More research at the University of Washington CREATE disability summit.

Attending a panel on disability and work, and one of the panelists said the magic percentage of disability inclusion for the actual inclusion benefits to kick in is 20%, and includes better attendance, more motivation, better perception, and stronger communication between management and employees.

I'm at a talk on disability and the law, and a terrifying prospect is that the Trump administration has no people doing disability policy. This means, zero federal push for ADA enforcement. This means that ADA will rely on local enforcement, which may not be occurring.

At the UW Creates research symposium on new disability research. Lots of interesting disability tech.

Any other autistics have a sort of autism radar, sort of like a gaydar, but for detecting other autistics? What's the way you tell? For me, a lot of it's kind of like a sort of social frequency or wavelength, where just being around other autistics feels like there's less static.

This passed 215-214. We're going to lose our healthcare because 3 senior Dems have died this year. We lost Roe because Ginsburg didn't retire. We lost the election because Joe ran for reelection. Our country is being destroyed because geriatric Dems can't retire and let go of power.

This vibe has been incredibly scarce in the #autism community. So many of us are still isolated, and struggling to just stay afloat. Reach out to autistics, commission autistic artists, donate to gofundmes, and ask that your employers hire neurodivergents.

The reason disability support is so important for disaster response is, if you can support the disabled community during a disaster, you've got a robust path to helping *everyone.* And this is true of a lot of areas.

Oh, they're doing the list thing again. We're in serious danger. Time to find the autistic people in your communities and support them. A lot of them are barely making rent, struggling, and trying to work in a way that they can. Hire them. Commission them. Keep us alive.

Something that's interesting to see is a blind colleague of mine, at this summit. During the talks, most of the sighted people are idly getting work done on their phones. He's listening. During the breaks, he's on a flurry of phone calls. Phones create a demand to work universally.

Day 2 of the Access and Functional needs conference. Big takeaways are about the importance of including disabled voices and finding existing community for emergency preparation. Orgs need to prioritize outreach and accessible trainings, & learn to support diverse families, and build plans for kids.

Something that strikes me as wild was the general mild outrage to RFK wanting to make a list of all the autistics. Sure, there was some outrage, but can you imagine the response if he had proposed a list of all the gay people? Or any other marginalized group? We're in serious danger, and need help.

At this disability disaster planning summit they're talking about tabletop simulation, and it makes me want to design a ttrpg campaign around fantasy disaster response. Dragon attacks, arcane storms, undead swarms... And the specialized teams to help people survive.
