A National Weather Service office in Kentucky was scrambling to cover the overnight forecast on Friday as severe storms moved through much of the eastern U.S. The office is one of several left without an overnight forecaster as a result of cuts ordered by the Department of Government Efficiency.

5 things Trump did this week: 1. Caved to China on tariffs 2. Received a gold necklace from a foreign leader 3. Said he made Taylor Swift not hot anymore 4. Got the United States’ credit rating downgraded 5. Kept the Epstein files safe in the vault for the 17th week

Reminder: the Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen posts are just to distract from the Qatari "gift" or the fact that he's trying to rip Medicare and Medicaid from millions of Americans right now.

This is something we can all do.👇🏼 File a complaint with the FL and DC Bar to have Pam Bondi disbarred for not complying with the 9-0 Supreme Court ruling to return Mr. Garcia from El Salvador. She's committed a slew of other crimes against the Constitution as well. I did mine... who's next?

Hey NY Times-- It is still a "fringe theory" -- every court has rejected it. There is still a "broad consensus" -- John Eastman is a disgraced lawyer under indictment. The only thing that has changed is the Times.

Alsobrooks to RFK Jr: "You are the wrong person for this job. And you had in this hearing today the unmitigated gall to say at the beginning of your testimony that China is ahead of the United States in healthcare because China does not have DEI."

🔥 DAMN! — @benniegthompson to @kristinoem: “I’m glad you found time among your many photo ops and costume changes to testify.”

Who could've guessed joining a make-believe Resistance against an Evil Empire would ever happen in real life?

Marjorie, I know the truth confuses you and facts ain’t your strong suit—so let me break it down real slow: George Floyd didn’t die from drugs. He died because Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes. That’s called murder.

MAGA knows how unpopular their Medicaid cuts are. That’s why they’re refusing to hold town halls and dodging their own voters. Let’s turn up the heat! Join the mass call this Thursday (5/15) at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST. RSVP: bit.ly/handsoffmedi... #PeoplesMovement #50501Movement #HansOff #SaveMedicare

Why are ICE agents masked to begin with? Our law enforcement officers shouldn’t be anonymous. Ever.

🤷🏼‍♂️

Meiselas: It’s an incredible honor to be here… We’re honored to be a small part of that incredible history, and we hope we’re helping to advance things and move them forward in the right direction.

Accepting a private jumbo-jet from a foreign nation is a clear violation of our Constitution, which plainly prohibits U.S. officials from accepting gifts from foreign governments.

Goodnight 🌙 Fuck Marco Rubio

@techfpv5965.bsky.social @luckylucyricardo.bsky.social @chrismurphyct.bsky.social This is the video of ICE agents attacking a young mother with her infant child in her arms and throwing her to the ground face first in Worcester, Ma. Where are our Senators, Congressmen? youtu.be/Nvvo692pp5w?...

Americans hit the streets in Worcester, MA to protest against ICE raids and deportations

Average Onion subscriber.

Pure corruption in broad daylight is still corruption.

Follow this week's major voting news. It is only Monday and already my team has sued Montana. I expect several additional cases to be filed this week. Never miss an update. Subscribe to Democracy Docket: hubs.ly/Q03jcjqP0

Avelo Airlines had its first deportation-related flight depart from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport May 12, 2025, headed to Alexandria, Louisiana.

SAY NO to deportation without due process. SAY NO to tearing families apart. Tell AVELO AIRLINES to stop providing deportation ICE flights! 5/22 near Wilmington Airport - easy parking for this important action. @loveharley.bsky.social @jjindc.bsky.social @indivisiblephl.bsky.social

Avelo Airlines has accepted a $150 million contract to operate deportation flights out of Arizona, aiding in the illegal removal of individuals without their right to a fair hearing or due process. Boycott Avelo! Spread the word. Mark your calendar for a nationwide action on May 31. stopavelo.org

This video is making the rounds again for a reason. A great example of how you make your voices heard—without saying a word. Power in numbers and it sends a clear message. This is what democracy looks like: standing up to fascism, tyranny, and racism. This is the way!

Everyone has “cover” now. 🤡 @wsj.com $AAPL www.wsj.com/tech/apple-i...

American levies on Chinese goods will drop from at least 145% to 30% for an initial period of 90 days, while Chinese levies are set to fall from at least 125% to 10% on American goods.

Rep. Menendez: "They had over 20 armed ICE HSI officers, they were heavily armed, their faces were covered, and they wearing no identification. So this is who they chose to have come engage with the mayor of Newark and 3 elected members of the House of Representatives."

BREAKING: U.S. and China said Monday they had agreed to a 90-day pause on most of the tariffs they have imposed on each other since last month www.nbcnews.com/world/asia/t...

this guy is out here proudly being a eugenicist freak while people at mainstream and "respectable publications" make excuses for him or even muse about whether he has a "few good points"

Not that this needs to be said, but bribery out in the open is still bribery.

Price controls and tariffs by executive order. The Republican Party sure has changed. Next thing you know they are probably going to root for Putin after he invades a US ally.

Trump’s “very public and transparent transaction” on the Qatar jet grift only came to light after confidential sources told ABC about it.

The amount of Russian soldiers in this picture is how many are killed or wounded every three days

This insane weekend in politics. A recap:

FEMA will stop knocking on doors to provide aid to disaster survivors, per a memo obtained by WIRED this week. It comes as the agency is shifting responsibility for recovery efforts to local authorities. Oh, and it's hurricane preparedness week, btw.

"No client ever had money enough to bribe my conscience or to stop its utterance against wrong, and oppression." -- Abraham Lincoln

Looking forward to traveling to Cedar Rapids on Tuesday for our town hall with @votevets.org. If you can't join us in person but want to tune in virtually, sign up here to watch the livestream:

could someone check with John Roberts whether accepting a $400 million plane for your personal use is a core executive power that congress may not constitutionally regulate or merely an action for which the president is presumptively immune from any accountability?

It’s especially galling that AG Pam Bondi personally wrote the memo approving the gift of the Qatari airplane. Her last job was as a lobbyist for Qatar! efile.fara.gov/docs/6415-Ex...

As we begin another week, my law firm is litigating 52 voting and election cases in 23 states. Democracy remains on the docket.

Since leaving Twitter, I had forgotten Jonathan Turley existed. Apparently he is still obsessed with me. It is amazing people still pay him to teach them law. He is just Mike Lindell with tenure.

Instant karma at a Victory Day parade in Russia. Wholly symbolic of the state of affairs there. 🍿

"Under the annual appropriations act, lawmakers are permitted to enter 'any facility operated by or for DHS used to detain or otherwise house aliens.' The law is clear that members of Congress are not required 'to provide prior notice of intent to enter a facility'..." www.cnn.com/2025/05/10/p...

AOC: If anyone is breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress — it’s DHS. It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem. You lay a finger on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman or any of the Representatives that were there… we’re going to have a problem.
