I found something to make me put a book down: introducing Hamilton to my daughter.

@michaellaborn.bsky.social you lead the way and we are all here with you, WE GOT THIS!💪🏼

If you are excited for Katabasis by RF Kuang, here is a must read. No One’s Gonna Take Her Soul Away is about a Black woman who is condemned to the seventh level of hell unjustly and must band together with a werewolf a vampire and a demon to escape. You need this book bookshop.org/a/87137/9781...

I don’t talk about the specifics of my illness online cos I don’t want any unsolicited advice. I have spent stupid money seeing the top expert in the country. I do research for a living. Pause before saying ‘have you tried?’ unless someone asks for advice. Cos believe me, WE HAVE. #chronicillness

I just came out as pansexual on Facebook. It’s not exactly been a secret (I came out on TT 2 years ago), but it is still feels momentous putting it where my friends throughout the years (largely evangelical) will surely see. Which is what I want…I want to invite them to actually see me.

123/400 💙📚 🎧📖: Fragile Animals by Genevieve Jagger Genre: Literary, Vampire Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Thoughts: What a weird setting for some beautiful rumination on family, religion, and sexuality.

Why thank you. I’d like to thank anxiety and the new administration for helping me achieve this, uh, accomplishment.

We don't misgender anyone. Not even people we don't like. Not even people who misgender us. We don't treat being gendered correctly as a reward for good behavior. Ever.

I truly believe Cry, Voidbringer is going to be one of the best books of the year. It is an anarchist, female-rage dark fantasy about resistance, colonialism and refusing to comply with tyranny. This is exactly the kind of book you want your name attached to! #cryvoidbringer #leftunread #bindery

Let’s get Jasmine to 1k! @jasmine-thewriter.bsky.social is a brilliant Black book creator who reads and reviews BIPOC and queer books. Also Jasmine did something really kind for me yesterday that really lifted my spirits, she’s so awesome! Follow Jasmine! #booksky #blackbooksky

In this impossibly hard year of 2025, I am letting myself be soft, vulnerable and generous both with others and myself. I will not let this world mold me into its current harsh shape.

Finished Water Moon last night. Second favorite book so far this year. #booksky

120/400 💙📚 🎧📖: Dexter by Design by Jeff Lindsay Genre: Thriller Rating: ⭐️⭐️.5/5 Thoughts: I finished this this morning. I don’t remember anything about it. 😅

Wrote a little blog post with 10 2025 dystopian/apocalyptic releases that feel timely/relevant to the “now times” #booksky

Yes. And unless I’m sleeping or working, I’m probably reading.

I’ve read 120 books so far this year. Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor is the best of the bunch. #booksky

Need a list of Black authors who I think history will remember? I think so too. So here you go!!! #blackhistorymonth #blackbooksky #blackauthors #leftunread #bindery

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.

An anti-vaxxer told me to up my Vitamin A intake if I was worried about measles. I did a thousands times better: I got myself and my family vaccinated.

117/400 💙📚 🎧📖: Dexter in the Dark by Jeff Lindsay Genre: Thriller Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Thoughts: The origin of the dark passenger was interesting.

116/400 💙📚 📖: Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn Barnes Genre: Thriller Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Thoughts: I’m enjoying the characters, but struggling with the necessity to put minors through traumatizing situations…because they’re a little better than adults? Because they’re screwed up already?
